New pistol from Ruger in collaboration with MAGPUL.... for the grip, but still no P320 grip.
My thoughts as well. Looks like another clone.Ruger seemingly has the unique ability to consistently make the ugliest handguns.
Currently, and just like Sig, only the complete pistol is offered. Reviewers expect that Ruger (again, like Sig) offer other sized grip modules, slide modules and FCU/FCI modules. GlockStore's review of the RXM said that the slide is a copy of the Glock slide, so 3rd party slides will likely work. GS also said that Glock 19 Gen 3 parts will most likely work just fine with the caveat that the modular design requires some mods to some parts. They did not do a dis/assembly of the slide and FCU/FCI; just a field stripping.Anyone know if they’ll sell just the FCU/FCI like Sig? Or probably more likely just the complete lower with all the proprietary parts. I’d like to build one up using as many Glock parts as possible and something like a killer innovation or ZEV slide. I have a lot of interest in this while also having little interest in it lol. Love the idea of a chassis Glock and the Magpul EHG but don’t care for or really trust Ruger for handguns. Just don’t have experience with them and if I could have this gun be built from other parts from companies I fully trust that’d be dope. Ideally, if Glock would just make a chassis Glock with the Gen 6 that’d be the perfect handgun with time imo.
I forgot that the RXM already has an optics cut (MOS), and metal iron sights. MOS is a premium on Glock but a standard feature on the RXM.Currently, and just like Sig, only the complete pistol is offered. The RXM already has "modified" parts -- a different grip angles (17/18Âş), an enlarged mag release button, an enlarged slide release, and a more aggressive and expensive grip stippling. In my hand, the RXM feels more "rounded" and "fuller" than a Glock grip.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^^Glock has had many opportunities to move their design forward and they really have not. The Gen 5 was the opportunity for a true redesign and the time to maybe even go with a FCU type system. Instead they played it safe and only addressed internal issues, and played with cosmetics. So we got a gun that looks like its interchangeable with its predecessors, but mostly is not.
The 'Handgunhero' website is very helpful IMO!Since I haven't gotten to see one of these in person yet, I took a look at comparing the RXM to a 1911, using Handgun Hero. Angle looks purty close, but not exactly, to me, but I dunno.
Definitely eliminates the Glock 19 "hump" tho.

I have seen the RXM grip angle listed as 17Âş and 18Âş by different reviewers. All the reviews (~6) say the grip angle is closer to the 1911 grip angle. The "hump" is gone and the RXM grip feels good to me.Since I haven't gotten to see one of these in person yet, I took a look at comparing the RXM to a 1911, using Handgun Hero. Per Magpul the grip angle is 20.5, this is from their technical specs. This means it’s actually closer to Glock than the 1911. I guess how it “feels” is the important thing though.I have seen the RXM grip angle listed as 17º and 18º by different reviewers. I agree. After getting an RXM in my hand yesterday, and comparing it to my 1911 (Springfield Garrison 5" .45) I feel like while the Ruger grip angle measurement is closer to the 1911, it's the lack of a "hump" at the back of the RXM that makes the difference in comfort. The Glock 19 has always had a larger dimension in the grip at the bottom, rear, which makes the slide rise up more than some folks prefer.Per Magpul the grip angle is 20.5, this is from their technical specs. I can say that the polymer 80 grip is much more natural pointing for me as well and they are a 19 degree angle, deleting the “Glock hump” makes a big difference.I agree. My guess is anyone who currently experiences "Glocks don't point naturally for me" will have an easier time adjusting to the RXM. While I've never had that issue, I recognize it's a real thing for some shooters.
And if anyone who mounts a RDS on it then has feeding issues, see the Mrgunsngear review video starting @ the 1:28 mark. Mounting screw placement is critical to avoid or alleviate the issue.I have to say the more I see about this gun the more interesting it gets. I read this about the grip angle and it makes sense, the polymer 80 is the same and it points more naturally for me.
“It’s not a 1911 grip angle. It's a 20.5 degree grip angle, the factory Glock is a 22 degree angle and the 1911 is 18 degree.”
The Magpul website verifies this.
