Cerakote Pistol Barrel?

I've talked with a few different cerakoters. Some say cerakote wears the same as any other barrel coating. Others don't recommend it.

I understand wear will come; it's unavoidable.

I have a slightly-marred barrel now and am looking to not only bring back a nice shine but also a great color: Burnt Bronze.

Anyone out there with experience having their barrel cerakoted?

As others have said, nope. It doesn't hold up for beans. I've even had a barrels coated with their Micro Slick which is meant for that, didn't last long at all.
On the other hand I have a lot of barrels DLC coated and they are great. I have a couple that I think they called rose (PVD of some sort) maybe kind of burnt bronze.

I recently had the barrel and slide of my LCPII Cerakoted Graphite Black. It came out a nice flat, matte black. I've shot that and it had no negative impact on reliability. I then had an older blued 1911A1 from Auto Ordnance Cerakoted with the same Graphite Black. I asked that the inside of the slide not be coated. I did not have that barrel coated. When I got it back, the inside of the slide and frame had been coated. The barrel bushing was very hard to put in the slide. When I went to shoot that it was behaving sluggish and I had some failures to feed. I polished the feed ramp (again), greased it up, and replaced the 16 lb recoil spring with an 18 lb one. I worked the action at home and shot a box of shells thru it. The coating wore off where it needed to and the pistol is once again shooting reliably. This 1911A1 was put together like a lot of GI pistols were with a little slide rattle so there was room for a little more material. I wish they hadn't coated the metal to metal surfaces but it wasn't a big deal for this pistol. I would not have my Sig 1911 Nightmare Cerakoted as the tolerances are just too tight and there is no need with the finish that Sig put on it. My older Auto Ordnance 1911 was looking kinda rough. Now it looks pretty good.
