Are you guys with the short seeing any difference between the rail length on the dustcover between the Wilson Macro short and the P365XL short?
The cut is shorter on the Wilson. Doesn't extend about the trigger guard.
But on the Sig module, that portion of the rail about the trigger guard is useless, right?
Light mounts don't back up that far or do they? If my guess is right, Wilson kept it short to avoid unnecessary length.

It is the "short" grip module and the slide is XL length.
Just don't have a need for a 1913 rail and I kinda like the looks of the short module better.
Would have preferred to see a rail-less version but the Sig rail is about as inconspicuous as it gets.
I dunno.

But the Wilson XL macro rail length is the same as OEM, right? Which just seems odd that the Wilson Macro short isn’t as well. Just seems like they’d be the same, I guess.

Seems like the short version will work with any of the slide assemblies X/XL/X Macro while the other module only works with the X Macro or XL. Maybe they were shooting for a version that would have the same rail as the X macro and a second option that would work with any size P 365 slide. I really like the idea of having an X Macro sized grip module that will work with either the standard or X slide.

Thinking about purchasing the macro short. Looking for a longer grip surface. Can anyone confirm that the macro short grip is longer than the XL version? Thanks
The Wilson X-Macro grip is basically the XL grip with a longer grip. 17 round mags sit flushish and if you want to use the shorter slide, you can. Wilson says it will fit XL holsters but I found it to be tight and works better with Macro holsters.

The Wilson X-Macro grip (1913 rail) only handles the long 365 slide (XL) and will definitely need the Macro holster.

Sounds great. Thanks.

does the Wilson have a flared mag well? Or can the mag well from the TacOps model screw to the Wilson grip like it does to the factory Tac Ops?

Does the Wilson module have marks where the safety needs a cutout?

Mag well is flared a bit. Maybe a smidgen less than Sig's add-on mag well for the stock Macro grip.
The swell is enough that I do not think an independent mag well can be attached.

Went to the range today and range a few mags through the Macro grip.

Mag drops are still tight. A good shake of the handgun or pulling the mag out is still required.
I am seeing that some mags slide out better, while others need encouraging.

The grip feels good and the extra length/girth offers more recoil control. May sand down the backstrap a little to take some of the aggressiveness out of things. It's not terrible, but a little rough for my tastes.

Last observation, I had two magazines that sent the slide forward when I slammed them into position. Not a deal breaker but surprised me a little.

Still pleased with the purchase and slowly converting all my spare mags to be compatible with the Macro grip.

This is the third report I’ve seen now of mags not dropping free, with the short (XL dustcover) version.

For as long as this was in development, that’s very surprising.

Curious if anyone else having this issue installed the grip weights. I did and they felt tight. Could be pushing against the magazine ever so slightly. I've sealed mine in place or I'd take them out and test the theory.

That could be. I've ordered the grip weights but they are arriving after my 1913 grip, so am interested in how they affect mag release.

Out of the three reports of mags not dropping free (including yours) all have been the short/XL length dustcover. Member @rick12pats indicated his (short/XL) had no issues with mags dropping. So that's 3 out of 4 short/XL grips with this issue.

Perhaps it's a hit or miss thing...which is pretty weird given that the production run for these would be continuous...and doubly weird that the 1913 rail versions would be designed any differently in the grip (assuming no issues with 1913 rail versions?)

Is it the actual mag body surfaces that are hanging up? I assume the mag release is/was installed correctly...? Or is it possible the mag release interface with the grip is causing issues?

If anyone receives a grip module (1913 or short/XL), before you install the mag release, could you check to see if a magazine will drop out of the grip module with no issues?

Mag release installed correctly. Can't see any issues there.

It feels as though there is a slight swelling in the magazine chamber that is preventing the magazine to release smoothly. Like holding a pole tight so it won't drop, then slowly releasing it so it can be pulled from your grip (I hope that made sense). The tension seems to be coming from the sides more so the front/back of the grip.

Could be that it just takes a little use for the surface friction within the magazine well to smooth. Is there a downside to rubbing a little Frog lube inside the well? I do agree that it's odd that this seems to only impact the short version. You would think the only modification in manufacturing is at the other end of the grip module.

I'm not hung up on this too much. Instinctively, I reach for the empty as my weak hand comes off the handgun to reload and pull it out regardless of how gravity impacts the process. Plus the grip feels really good. If it doesn't loosen up, I can live with it.

Just received my WC X Macro “ Short version “ I LOVE the looks and the feel. Unlike some reports I’ve read I had no issue installing the FCU , It slipped right in. All of my X Macro mags insert and drop free empty or loaded without any issue. I was so excited about this module as I felt it would work with any P 365 slide assembly and it does. My issue is that it doesn’t fit correctly in any holster I’ve tried. It fits X macro holsters but it doesn’t seem to lock in correctly. I’ve tried Tier 1 , Vedder , Upper Hand X Macro holsters. It also won’t fit any P 365 or P 365 XL holster I’ve tried . I ended up going back to a WC XL module.

That would drive my OCD nuts. I like my mags to pop out like Candy Bars at Intermission.

I‘d probably hit the interior with some 1000 then 2000 paper on a wood block first, then some dry lube. Sure, FL is just paraffin basically, couldn’t hurt I’d guess.
