So I called Staccato today

Getting bored with my P365X, lol. Interested in the new CS model but there’s a 180 day wait period. Asked them about purchase and when I’d be charged. They said it was an immediate payment, not liking that with a 6 month wait so I’ll back off until turnaround time is shortened. Their shortest turnaround time is 70 days for their XL model, crazy!

This won't help you on the CS model, but most of the other models like XL are available online. Here's a place that has free shipping and usually doesn't collect tax.

They have P DPO, C2 DPO and XL ready to ship.

I found a place in Texas that has 4 new CS models for $2499 each. I’m tempted without my 10 percent discount but I’m beginning to waffle. I know it’ll be a good shooter, the price doesn’t concern me but I don’t think the gun will be that concealable with my 5’6” frame.

the CS isn't considered "duty" so you don't get the 3 extra mags or free optic plate like you do with the others and only get the regular discount. The others are on sale for 25% off if you get the code from your LE/MIL rep. My dad ordered a C2 in January, non fast track and it got delivered in a month. He got 6 mags total and a free optic plate. He ordered an XC in May, it hasn't shipped yet, he should get 6 mags total too. He's getting ready to order a P and I'm thinking of a C2.

The CS is their newest model and in high demand. I'm not surprised there is a healthy wait for them right now. But if you're willing to spend $2k+ on a pistol, waiting a little while for them to build you one, or until they become more widely available, doesn't seem like a big deal.

I can get a C2 right now, and am seriously considering it. The CS would be a little easier to carry/conceal, but I think the C2 will be a better all-arounder. Decisions....

I would pick up a Staccato in a heart beat if it wasn't for the price (I'm sure others would too).

Not saying that those who opt for the Staccato are making a mistake and they are really, really nice handguns.
A good friend of mine has two. Action is smooth as glass.
I just can't wrap my head around spending that much on a gun. The first scratch, ding or scuff would feel like someone kicked me in the nuts.

I think my ceiling for the cost of a handgun I'll carry out into the harsh world is $1200.
At that price point a scuff isn't going to kill me and the urge to run to a gunsmith to have the blemish fixed is manageable.
