Not the slide, but barrel, yes. And, as you probably know, DLC is incredibly wear resistant. They don't name it Diamond Like Carbon for nothing.

Also, you might want to consider CCR CPII Dusk. This is the CPII in black.

I prefer the original blue/black finish from the German barrels. The new DLC finish on the US barrels just looks funky to me.

 

I agree. When you're used to something for so long, anything different will look funny. But, when it comes to wear resistance, there's just no comparison. The blued barrel will wear, if you just sneeze at it. The DLC one? It says, "Give me your best shot". :lol:

 

I was wondering who'd bring up the DLC coating on a slide. I have a DLC barrel and love it! No scratches to worry about, wipes clean and looks brand new after range time. I'd definitely buy a pistol if it was DLC coated! This coating is definitely top notch, fit for a Legion (hinting Sig).

This DLC is amazing. I have a P227, and P226 Legion both with 2000 rds thru them with no smileys, they look unfired. My question is why doesn't Sig coat all the internals with the coating to decrease wear, and increase their lifetime?
