That’s it? So if they want to purchase it? I send it to their FFL and they would have to buy a tax stamp?

 

I think your buyer may need TWO tax stamps. 11.5inch barrel and suppressor on a rifle... typically would be an SBR.

 

And it is NOT SBR at the moment

 

Best course would be to contact your local dealer, who will know all the details.

 

If you sell to someone in your home state, it’s one stamp for the transfer (Form 4 through an FFL/SOT). If you sell it out of state, it’s two stamps, one to the dealer and then one to the buyer. Sometimes you can split transfer fees with the buyer. To make it a bit more complicated, you can actually do your transfer directly to the out of state FFL/SOT on a Form 4, but some don’t like to deal with individuals, so you’d have to Form 4 it to your local FFL/SOT, them your dealer will Form 3 it to the out of state dealer, then they Form 4 it to the new buyer. This process is for each NFA Class III item your are selling.

Same as usual, but I had to cancel the stamp and e-form at my LGS; once cleared is confirmed (1 day in my case) it can be transferred to a new buyer. This is exactly how I went through when I sold my XM5 Spear .277 Fury last year.
