I forgot to ask,is it the so called "new" Style.? I have three P220a an Equinox a Lipsey SSE all stainless in 10MM with Rosewood Grips and a all Stainless 220R-45-SBSS in 45. It is a Limited Edition The old Elite came with adjustible combat sights DA/SA SRT Black Aluminum grips.

Sir, no disrespect but there is something wrong if you have to ask a bunch of guys on the internet if you should buy something? I'm just going to say it. IF you want it, can afford it, buy it! It will probably be gone when you go back because you came here first. You know Sigs are fine guns, and that is why you want one. Now go buy it so you can be proud of the gun and yourself for getting it. Then take a picture of it so we can see it as well. Fish

Hey Fish, Thanks for your good words. The second question in my original post was the crucial one. I was simply wanting to gain the additional perspective of experienced P220 owners on the relative virtues of the Elite vs. the Legion, since this will be my first P220. I'm always willing to learn more. I'll post that picture when I can. Thanks again.

Well I know we have something in common! Besides Sigs, we both like air planes in our avatars. The 220 is a great pistol better than the Legion in my opinion, its all about marketing. Looking forward to seeing pictures.

If you like 45, then you’ll like a P220 no matter the version. At one point I had sold all my 1911s because I liked the 220 so much. I’ve since bought two 1911s just because I missed em.. still prefer the 220.
That says a lot! Thank you

Thanks for that input, another vote for the 220 Elite. I corralled it a few hours ago; pictures are coming on a new post shortly.

Yes, with my avatar and user name I wanted to honor my favorite classic fighter of all time, the Supermarine Spitfire, "the plane that saved Europe" [well, at least the plane that saved England during the Battle of Britain], as some have said. I have long admired the design and that great comment by the pilots: "You don't enter a Spitfire; rather, you wear it, you put in on." Must have been quite a thrill to feel the maneuverability and the firepower as an extension of yourself, especially when closing in on a Messerschmitt ME-9 and others.

Btw Is that a B-24 of B-17 in your avatar?

That is the legendary "909" B-17. It flew over my house several times and I was lucky enough to snap some pictures of it. Later that year it crashed in Connecticut killing a few that were on board. So sad.
