I have purchased the new optics ready Sig P220 in DA/SA 45 acp; ordered Romeo 1 pro; Grayguns flat adjustable trigger and master spring set; ordered Sig xray tall sights. I have been a Sig armorer since 1987 but I ran into two issues that I will share with you.
First- the gun is amazing but the new style slide release is terrible. I ordered and installed the old style and modified the grips with Dremel tool and black bluing pen. Now its usable.
2nd- Installed the tall sights but they slightly over-hang the milled optics cut. I had to remove about a 1/16 of an inch from the back of the rear sight to seat the Romeo 1 Pro and again use bluing pen. Anyone else have this issue? Not a big deal but Sig needs to pay attention to this type thing since tall sights and optics ready kinda go together. I did call Sig CS and talked with them.
I put on a DPM recoil system (I have found them effective on 45 caliber) and it is a fantastic gun. I carried a P220 for half my career as a Fed and love the gun.
