I have purchased the new optics ready Sig P220 in DA/SA 45 acp; ordered Romeo 1 pro; Grayguns flat adjustable trigger and master spring set; ordered Sig xray tall sights. I have been a Sig armorer since 1987 but I ran into two issues that I will share with you.

First- the gun is amazing but the new style slide release is terrible. I ordered and installed the old style and modified the grips with Dremel tool and black bluing pen. Now its usable.

2nd- Installed the tall sights but they slightly over-hang the milled optics cut. I had to remove about a 1/16 of an inch from the back of the rear sight to seat the Romeo 1 Pro and again use bluing pen. Anyone else have this issue? Not a big deal but Sig needs to pay attention to this type thing since tall sights and optics ready kinda go together. I did call Sig CS and talked with them.

I put on a DPM recoil system (I have found them effective on 45 caliber) and it is a fantastic gun. I carried a P220 for half my career as a Fed and love the gun.

Nice purchase. I find myself wanting one of those. The only thing stopping me is that it doesn't fit well into my needs. These days I try to buy pistols that will be great for duty/concealed carry or IDPA/USPSA. I could shoot the P220 in CDP, but I'd be shooting against myself as almost no one shoots CDP anymore. It would make a great duty gun, but it wouldn't have anything on my Grayguns Modern Classic. I still want one though. It will end up being an impulse purchase. Are there any holsters that fit both the P320s and and P220s?

Sounds absolutely great! As it happens, that particular gun has caught my eye and i have a quick question if you don't mind. I haven't seen the gun in person so, have to rely on pictures. In one picture it appeared that the trigger had a hollowed out back. I found this to be curious because I thought the trigger is supposed to be a Gray Guns P-SAIT trigger and they do not have that characteristic. Could you verify that I saw correctly. I have a question into Sig about it but they have been unusually slow in answering.
Thanks and thanks for posting about this, I see it's your first. 😊

Nice job on putting on the standard slide stop/release. Did you have to take off much material from the left grip?

And not to beat a dead horse, but do you have a pic of the back of the original trigger? The Legion series was being marketed as having the original GG trigger and they are still referring to the trigger on the 220 Legion as being an SAIT trigger. I'm thinking they came up with a cheaper alternative to the genuine GG trigger and the back of the trigger will confirm my thought.

Thanks again

FYI, the smaller Legion slide release ease of use improves substantially after break in versus day one. Personally I don’t care because I use the slingshot method. I’ve had many Legion owners mention how much better the slide release got after some use so don’t only judge when fresh out of the box. YMMV.
