Academy Sports has them in stock now.... if you have an Academy card- it's $379. ( a perk for some)

Been getting serious about this...but have to realize that I'm retired and on S/S.....I have to do my business one thing at a time.....and unfortunately right now- I'm trying to save up for tires.....then the Bodyguard 2.0 is next! (y)
Actually 10% this weekend if purchasing on their card, making it $360 before taxes. I ordered for store pickup for that price.

Shoots really good. On par with the Sig P365 .380, if not a little better. Better than the P238 as well.

Really surprised how little recoil this tiny handgun has. I'm guessing because your grip basically swallows up the handgun and sits higher on the grip. The slide does loosen up a good bit after about 50 or so rounds (not that it was terrible out of the box) and the trigger isn't too shabby. Not a fan of the dongle on the trigger but it pairs up really well with the trigger that you don't feel it. It's also a bit wider and flatter, which helps with the feel.

All in all, zero disappointment with this purchase. I'm partial to Sig and they could learn a little from the Bodyguard 2.0. I just need spare mags to hit the market...

Thanks for the feedback

Too small for me. I realize they may have a place for certain lifestyles. For semi-autos, I don't have much interest in anything smaller than my P365XL.
For me, it will only be used for pocket carry. I see it in the same way as other pocket guns but it has the advantage of a more usable grip thanks to the low bore axis and trigger guard undercut. I am thinking most folks can get 3 fingers on that grip. I am also thinking recoil will be less than a typical J frame with double the capacity. I love j frames but this little Bodyguard looks impressive…at least the reviews and comments to date.

If it is reliable, I think it will send my LCP Max and original Bodyguard down the road. But it must be reliable with hollow points.

agree and will have to wait for a ten round to be available for me here in ny. hopefully by them others will have time to put it through it paces and since I carry mostly my lcp max in summer months probably next spring ..njoy it

Yes, this is act my only interest in it actually. I don't prefer the small narrow frames. It will be a a pocket and NPE pistol. Smallest I care to go otherwise is my J Frame. I actually prefer my Jframe, but this has more capacity and quick reloadability. I probably won't carry it often, but it would be nice in the lineup just the same.

I will probably own one and I hope it's actually pocketable.
then probably should be moved from probable to definitely because it is almost same size as the lcp max which is designed as pocket carry pistol and I pocket carry the lcp max in the summer months with no issue and think the bodyguard maybe be narrower as well.. sorry for the bad news but it looks like your int he market for new firearm lol..

Mine shoots anything, no issues. I did send my original bodyguard and my LCP Max down the road. Not looking back.

UPDATE: January 5, 2025

I bought the BG2 in early August. I have less than 500 rounds through it.

I have experienced some of the reported issue out of the box:

- Front and rear sights are NOT aligned properly and commonly shooting low-left.

- 12-round mag with defective follower – hangups up at 3 round

- Mags very difficult or impossible to fully load

- Fully loaded mags cause failure to feed when installed with the slide closed

- Extremely difficult to rack

- Some bullet style ammo will not feed properly

- Defective 2-stage feed ramps that need ridges removed and polished

- Defective spring assembly preventing guide rod to be seated in the end of the slide

- Parts following off or parts completely missing

My experience with S&W Customer Service, regarding the Spring Assembly/Guide rod and the 12-round mag follower, was very unprofessional with no empathy and obviously did not care about my feedback.

Yesterday I shot Magtech FMJ, PCM Bronze FMJ, Sig V-Crown JHP, Hornady Critical Defense FTX, Hornady Custom XTP, Hornady FTX, Federal HST Personal Defense JHP, and Winchester PDX1 JHP, with ZERO failures. I have not tried Winchester 95 gr FMJ Flat Nose.

I would have preferred a bright green front sight. The wide rear sight slot is OK for me for a defense situation. For practicing at the range, a narrower slot would be better for POA at beyond 5 yards. I painted the top of the rear sight with bright white fingernail polish to see if I helps my old eyes to find the rear sight quicker I still need to correct the front and rear sight alignment. When I get to about 1000 rounds with zero failures this will most likely be my preferred CC and EDC in my pocket with a Muddy River Tactical kydex holster.

Yikes…sorry to hear about all your issues.

My buddy bought a BG 2.0 and I have been to the range with him and shot it several times. A couple of observations:

* His front sight was misaligned too. Gun was shooting left and after visual inspection we could easily see the sight was not centered.

* Mags are very stiff to fully load but we could fully load them and use without malfunction.

* We have shot a few brands of ball ammo and had no malfunctions. He was sourcing some Hornady Critical Defense hollow-points for testing that he plans to carry if reliable.

* Trigger is leaps and bounds better than my BG 1.0 (double action only), but still felt somewhat gritty. It’s completely suitable for the intended purpose but we both noticed the gritty feel. Perhaps it will smooth out with use but if not, he is good with it anyway. We have not measured the trigger weight but I would guess 5-6 lbs, about the same weight as my P365 with Sig’s flat trigger installed.

* Much smaller and lighter than my P365 with 10 round mag, but the grip somehow feels better. I think the grip design is the highlight of this gun.

Even though not perfect, I am still going to buy one for pocket carry. In the right pocket holster, it’s perfectly sized for carrying while balancing shootability and capacity. I will continue to wait and let the initial hype die down and manufacturing process mature before buying.
