Over the past couple weeks I happened to visit three separate Walmart stores in my area looking for CCI Mini-mag .22lr ammo. The display cases in all three were completely devoid of everything except a small selection of shotgun ammo. I found a clerk behind the counter at the last store and asked if this was just a normal out of inventory case or something more. Her answer was that Walmart will no longer be carrying any .22 ammo at all. I don't know it this is going to be the case nationwide. I haven't found another source nearby that offers that ammo at a price even close to Walmart's and not many that even carry it at all. Anyone have a lead for alternative sources with good prices?

^^^ x2 - really easy to price shop on that site ! I've also found really good deals at the larger local gun stores (like Shooters World).
Since it's so cheap, I stock up when there's a deal & start 'looking' as the supply whittles down.

Target Sports USA has pretty good prices on ammo and free shipping with a case purchase. Plus I don't have to wait a half and hour for them to find the keys to open the ammo case. SGAmmo is always worth looking at too and they have free shipping with orders of over $200.

I've had excellent results with online purchases from Natchez Shooters Supply (www.natchezss.com) and Midsouth Shooters Supply (www.midsouthshooterssupply.com") but Lucky Gunner (www.luckygunner.com) is my new favorite. Unbeatable prices and super fast delivery. If you check the prices at these three, you will probably not find a better price anywhere else.

I remember sometime back, I was shopping at Wally's and had both Food, bullets (shotgun, 22 lr) and beer and booze. This woman, about my age I'd guess, took exception with that and actually called a manager about my purchase at her dept register (Sporting). The woman, said that she had to go 'DO' something and didn't ring me up. I was polite, didn't argue and went to the registers at the front of the store, where the cashier had NO problem with my transaction! Ohh well :confused1: I still shop there, but IF I see that woman at a register, I'll choose another line! FWIW

This IS JMO, but It's my sincere belief that any business has a right to make their own policy's. BUT when we're dealing with a massive corporation (multinational) such as Walmart, their 'Wokeness' IS directly related to the managers, and other employees that are hired. The old saying that the đź’© rolls downhill. Woke managers, force woke policies at the Corp level and the Local managers do the same. Businesses are in the business to #1 Make money! This IS where the poison DEI comes into play to be 'Social Engineers', to push the public (their customers) in the 'Woke' direction. It's meant to desensitize the public. Tell a LIE often enough, it becomes, what the public sees, hears and thinks, IS 'Normal'!

I live about half way between two exits with shopping centers that have Walmart's. I haven't been in either more than a couple of times, the wife hates Walmart and never wants to go there. I think we bought an ironing board there maybe 10 years ago.

I've never bought any .22 or any other ammo there. Here in Gun World there are a dozen places to buy ammo but I still buy 90% of my rounds online. Someone, somewhere online has .22 on sale ... some with free shipping if you buy enough. I usually order 1 to 2000 at a time.

I can only be myself. Meaning, I've always looked at the 'BIG' picture. It's just the way I'm wired. It's kinda like Newton's Law of Gravity. For every action, there's an equal and opposite 'reaction' (Newton?). The 'Players' on the world's stage actually calling the shots, have always 'Played the LONG game'. It IS what it is.

It's really simple - if you don't agree with a businesses policies, don't shop there. Whenever possible, I try to patronize local businesses and small, independent manufacturers, and buy from them directly. Walmart and other big block chains can kiss my ***.
100% correct Hammer!!! Why give a store your hard earned money if you don’t agree with or get good service from them?

If you purchase where they Scan Driver license to by ammo that’s on you. You can always try to find a place that doesn’t.Most banks now days have a credit card code that shows up as firearms related purchase anyway so you can be tracked on purchases. Welcome to high tech data tracker.
I remember back in 1967 at 14 years old I could walk into a hardware store and purchase .22 or 12ga ammo by myself and purchase to go hunting no problem .Things and time change.
Just go to a local gun show and pay cash for it if you don’t want to be carded or tracked with purchases.

Remember these things you don’t like come

When Walmart stopped carrying handgun and other ammunition that was not considered hunting caliber ammo they kept shipping it out to stores and stopped ordering from the mfg. making the ammo until the warehouse was out of ammo. Some stores had supplies in stock longer depending on what warehouse shipped to them.
I don’t think Walmart will stop selling .22LR ammo. It is a lot cheaper to shoot at .08 cents a round vs .25-.30 cents for 9mm.

I hope that's the case but in my area their shelves have been emptied of all .22lr ammo where they used to stock not only the CCI Minimag 100rd boxes but 222rd and 300rd boxes of Winchester and others as well. Unless there's a repeat of the .22lr shortage from a few years back this appears to be a complete abandonment of that product line. And that was confirmed by the clerk I spoke with.

Stick to online purchases. Sellers mentioned above and other good ones. Get on their mailing lists to catch their sales, which include ALL holidays even the silly Hallmark ones. Best sales include free shipping. You’ll find plenty of deals better than local retail. Be sure factor tax depending where you live. Remember: buy cheap, stack deep.

I am confused... some of you don't buy locally because they require a valid DL to be presented, and you don't want to be tracked. I understand this. But then you will buy online and pay with a CC. So your CC company AND the shipping company now have your info.

Can anyone explain?

If I purchase online usually purchase a Walmart prepay gift card with cash to order any items. I do this because I don’t want my credit card info out online for security reasons. That way I do not have any personal info for stolen identity. If the prepay card info gets stolen there is no $$$ amount left to spend. I purchase from vendors I’ve used for a long time and have never had any issues with them.
I got burnt once on an extended magazine for $32.00 from “BADGER MOUNTAIN SUPPLY” and never received the item and never got my $$$ back.
