I searched but couldnt find anything straight forward.
What position, 12 o'clock at zipper, 6 o'clock center back is your preferred position carry IWB/OWB for concealment. And why has it worked for you?

IWB at the 4 o'clock position. That position, for me, is comfortable and allows me access to my right front pocket and my knife.
4 o'clock may be difficult for some to draw from due to the support hand will need to be positioned close to the 3 o'clock position to lift your clothing up for access.
One handed clothing lift techniques work with tons of practice.

Find a position that works for YOU

Take these responses and flip them and you have my carry position. (Lefty) About 8:00 for me, but I am experimenting with AIWB. It's surprisingly more comfortable than I expected, even with a bit of gut going on.

I know this is a reference to concealment and what I'm going to say isn't 100% pertaining to same, but I'll toss it out there anyway.

First, BH: I used to carry center spine {yours looks like rear hip more or less} until a fellow on the SIGFORUM warned me about it and I researched it a bit to find he was right in that it is/can be a very dangerous place to have a pistol in the event of a fall. Also, if a physical confrontation goes to the ground {i.e. you get Zimmermaned} getting a rear holstered pistol put may be very difficult.

This is the pic that caused his comment {an old one from some years ago}. I made the rigging and it worked GREAT. Left hand draw with a right hand holster, center back. I never ran into trouble in spite of falls, but his warning got my attention...

I am 5' 10" and weigh 176 lbs and have similar issues to BH RE hiding a pistol. Basically, I carry similar to BH except a little farther forward.

But here are my concealment rigs. I make most of my holsters except for the Fobus and all of my feld holsters where I am not carrying concealed.

I made this one and it works well;

And a regular Fobus paddle for my 2022 works "OK" but sticks out more.

I run with my LC9 and obviously this would work perfectly with another light jacket over. The holster also works really well for hip carry in light clothes.

Years ago I sold security systems and worked some seedy parts of town and carried an old Ithaca/Essex "Franken 1911" Mexican style. I had no problems but that while very concealable is poor in the event of a tussle.

3:30-4:00 strong side works best for me. I'm 5'10" 165. It keeps the gun (P938) off my bony parts. When I'm driving, this position keeps it out of the seat belt as well. 12:00 or 6:00 would be impossible for me unless I removed the weapon every time I drive (and I don't want to muzzle my man parts). I know some people do this, but it's not for me. Once it's in my waistband, it's there to stay. I don't want to be getting out of my car and adjusting a gun for all to see.

I wore shorts and a close fitting tshirt yesterday and there was no printing.

I had to read this line a couple times then looked at your location! LOL.

+1

My usual carry is a Walther PPS in a Remora at 3:30, with extra mag riding at 8:30. The Remora really is remarkable.

I sometimes carry a 229 that way as well now, but it is significantly thicker and heavier than the PPS.

All you fat guys—5'10" 160 lbs—you need to be a svelte 5'11" 250 lbs. 😝

I WISH G-Code would make a *******' INCOG for the P250 (and other P series...at least the smaller ones) but they have a very technical CAD system and probably not a lot of people want to carry a P226 or P229 AIWB. Shame, it'd be perfect for the P250sc or the M11 or the little P .45 I can't think of what it's called.

If I'm carrying my compact it goes 3-4 o'clock in a White Hat Max Tuck. I want to carry AIWB but the holster I have has the loops a bit too low and I'm looking for a holster maker that will try some ideas I have that might help.

I carry my Sig P239 in a DeSantis SOB holster in the 5:00 postion. This keeps it to the right of my spine and it fits well into the small of my back. Draw is palm toward body out to the right never crossing my own body. Holster has perfect cant for smooth draw. While riding in the car I prefer to not have my pistol holstered in any position. I keep it in an Uncle Mike's 8 1/2" x 12" padded pouch unzipped on the passenger side seat. This povides easy access and complete concealment. It looks more like a tablet than a gun. I also have a lanyard attached to it to keep it to keep it low profile. Makes it easy to place gun in the trunk when going to a place where guns are prohibited.

I agree with most of you guys, 3-4 o'clock either ITW or OTW is best for comfort and concealment.

Another word of caution, my uncle carried daily a compact 1911 ITW, small of his back. He got rear ended in a mild car accident. Car wasn't quite totaled and no hospital stay, but he had significant back pain from the seat crushing the gun into his back.

Just somthing else to keep in mind

Either 3:00-3:30 in an OWB or about 2-2:30 IWB, either way canted forward at the FBI standard 15 degrees. I drive a lot and need to be able to draw from the seated position, without having to dig for it. P-226/229/239 depending on the day of the week. :D

I carry a P226, IWB just about daily (except for the past few months, not as much) @ about 3:30 to 4:00 (right handed). I'm 6'4" and 290lbs and have friend in law enforcement that say it's hard to notice mine when I carrying.
