That's the nicest example of the heal release I've seen. My RSO has one that's a great shooter but no where near as clean as that.

Dispo, that is certainly a nice example, especially with the original box, target,etc. I've seen that "Assembled by RPS" discussed at some length. Unless some more recent verifiable information has come to light, last I saw, the RPS marking was of undetermined origin.....

 

I would have to do research to get the exact facts.

Early on Sig Sauer imported guns through RCS and my 1986 says RCS WOVL Washington.
Later Sig shifted to Herdon Virginia.
Later still Sig opened manufacturing in NH.

Nothing about assembly, just an important licence.

It is a 45 ACP sporting the JE stamp. Putting it right in line with the other Assembled by RPS guns on the list.

I thought I included this photo with the others but apparently not. The frame looks extremely unused and clean on the inside.

I concur that your P220 is a more than a bit more special then this good old 45. As for the sights, I have these on a few of my older Sigs. I love em, I run XS Big Dots on my carry P239 & P229 both running 40/357 set ups so it is an easy transition. I'll take this style over 3 dot any time I can, or even a blacked out rear and single front dot.

The early P220 with the European mag release is in the top 3 of my favorite SIGs. I have several including some Montage Suisse. OTOH, mine are all 9mm. IIRC, I have never seen a .45 in person. I will buy one when I do. Congratulations on the excellent buy.
