Saw this in an email blast from SIG:

Guessing (hoping) it'll be black anodized.

Question, does anyone know how much the AXG Legion grip module weighs, just by itself, at the moment?
Let's see if I can work this out.

...says an AXG legion with the AXG grip module weighs 26 oz with magazine.

Let's compare this to the X Macro Comp.

The weight is listed as 21.5 oz. I see there's no magwell on the Comp, so we need to add that to the weight, to make it equivalent to the AXG. Sig doesn't list a weight for the metal-alloy "Magazine Funnel" part, so I'm going to estimate it at 0.5 oz, based on hefting mine last time I had it off my Frankengun. So as a rough guess, I'd say the X Macro Comp is around 22 oz, with magazine, adding a magwell.

Compared to the AXG, that is a 4 ounce difference.

I'm sure that is noticeable, but not sure for me it makes sense. I already have a Taylor Freelance Brass backstrap on mine, which is 3.4 oz.

Glad they are offering the AXG module, though. I'll be curious what the price point is, but not sure I'll order one.

Should have waited, $299.99
And by the time I got around to pulling the trigger, its sold out... Oh well I'm sure they will make more with all the purchases. I was disappointed at the black Friday release of the legion 365 AXG module, this anodized black module was exactly what I was looking for but I didn't even know they were selling these until I saw your post.

That is dastardly. Would have preferred the black module but not terribly upset that I have the Legion version on the way.
Think the $100 savings stings a little more than the grip color, though. Tempted to return the Legion version but lord knows when the black will be back in stock but on the plus side, I like the grip panels a bit better and the mag well attachment.

Received the P365 AXG Legion Grip Module today. Assembled with a black XL slide. There is a little more contrast in color between the grip and the slide than the pictures shows but not much. Very limited test to see if it would shoot. Recoil does appear to be less. Will do a more extensive test later. Well pleased with it so far.

Thanks for the photo curysir. Your phto was much better than the one Sig used on their web Page. Looks like the grip panel is the same except for the color. I'm supposed to get mine Sunday but on other packages keep Fedex keeps sending emails saying sorry for the delay. Doesn't take a lot to see that a package that is still on the East coast won't arrive in Texas overnight.

Mine came in today. Haven't had time to pair it with a slide but the gray is just a shade or two off from the slide. It's one of those things that you have to look closely at it to notice the difference. The grip feels good in the hand and I like the Legion styled grips over the standard that comes with the black AXG frame. The mag well flare is a nice touch too.

I also have to say that I like the feel a bit better than the Wilson module. I've been carrying a XL grip for the past few years so it will take a few days to get used to the longer grip but that's a burden I'm willing to tackle. The $399 price tag could have been better but it is Christmas.

But here's the thing to watch. With Sig offering the black AXG grip at $299, what impact will that have with the higher priced third party options? Could this bring the third party prices down?

I've owned an Icarus and while a nice grip module, the Sig AXG feels a lot better to me. Haven't had my hands on Mischief Machine or Shalotec but suspect the same. If Sig can partner with Hogue to offer additional grip panel styles (would like to see a black/OD green Damascus), the metal P365 module market could get really interesting.
