I have looked everywhere on line, called several places like Armory Craft and I can't find a +2 base pad extension for the P220 10MM anywhere. I am coming to the realization that they do not exist, but before completely giving up on my quest I figured it would be wise to ask the Sig community first. Does anyone know if they exist, ever existed and if not why ? I know I can't be the only one who wants to up the P220 from 8 to 10 rounds. ✌

That is exactly the info that I am looking for. Just logged on to the ACT website and it directed me to to Advancedtactical.com. There I found the P220 45 ACP in an 8 round mag. Is this the one you are referring to ?
https://advancedtactical.com/sig-sauer-p220-45-acp-8rnd-nickel-finish-act-mag/
I also found this link on YouTube where the guy is using a Chip McCormick power mag 10 round in 45 ACP.
Here is the link to the mag on Chip's website.
One thing that I noticed between the .45 ACP mags and the ones designed for 10mm is the 10mm mags have a vertical indentation running the entire length of the mag where the .45 ACP's do not. Top pic is the factory Sig P220 mag and the bottom pic is the Chip mag. I guess the only way to really be sure is to buy one and range test it. I love range days and experiments.

OP,
Using any 1911 10mm or 45ACP mag in a SIg P220...I have not experimented with fit or function.

As others have witnessed & posted on SIG Talk,SIG P220 45ACP magazines have feed/function issues w/ ammo at SAAMI maximum OAL of 1.275"

SAAMI spec for 10mm maximum OAL is 1.260".....015" shorter than the 45ACP.

I have run thousands of rounds of reloads using ACT- MAG 45ACP magazines in my P220 R5 10mm w/o any issues...& I would trust my life w/ them.

As per your observation of the full length extrusion in the 10mm mag body & not in a 45ACP mag body...the extrusion is to keep the smaller diameter 10mm round centered in the mag body for feeding.....aka P239 357SIG & not P239 40S&W mags.

10mm will feed & function thru a P220 45ACP, mag but not vice versa.

Interesting experience. .45 calibre is approximately 11.5mm, which is substantially larger than 10mm. A couple years ago I was at a gunshop with a friend, who wished to rent a 10mm P220 to shoot. The store had the weapon but no mags for it. I pulled one of my mags from my shoulder holster and took out the .45 ACP hollow point ammo. The 10mm would not stay in the mag but fell out. My mags are all the standard Sig 8-round made in Italy and stamped Sig Sauer. ?Did or does ACT make more than one mag for the 220.

The video posted shows the shooter shooting a 1911, in which clearly 1911 mags would work. In my experience with 1911's, mags are all basically the same size, but with a wall built in to push the rounds forward (9mm) or indents (as noted in the pics) to narrow the inside of the mag tube for smaller diameter cartridges. I would have expected to see something like that for the 220.

As for 10 round mags, Sig did not make any, to my knowledge. Instead, what they did was make a 227, which had the exact same slide as the 220 but a double stack mag - to only hold 10 .45 ACP rounds. There are some 14 round mags for the 227 but they are rare and hard to find, and they need a mag spring "upgrade" to a Pachmyre (I believe) mag spring to work properly.

I just sold My P220 All SS P220 10MM Lipsey.I still have 15 extra 8 rd Mags I ONLY Trust OEM mags. Not sure Who makes the Reg P220 10MM Mags or the legion ones.

ACT-MAG an Italian Company, manufactures the P220-1 45ACP & 10mm magazines.

Gonna try this one from Gun mag warehouse,
and these 2 from Chip McCormick. The difference in the 2 from CM are the followers and the railed version is supposed to be heavy duty.
Fingers crossed. 🤞🤞🤞. Thanx everyone ! I'll update this post with the results hopefully next week. ✌

I always assumed the Sig P220 factory mags were made by Mec-Gar. o_O
Negative
SIG USA P220-1 45ACP & P220 R 5 10mm magazines are manufactured by ACT-MAG...an Italian Company...as Meg-Gar is an Italian Co.also.

Devereaux-
Your issue must have been your location, being in a BLUE State, as I ,in a Red State have NEVER had an issue using any P220 -1, 8 or 10 round SIG SAUER branded 45ACP ACT-MAG in my P220 R 5 10mm's since their inception 15yrs ago.

Update:
I haven't received the mags from Chip McCormick yet but I did get the Sig Sauer mag from gun mag warehouse. Took it to the range on Saturday. Ran four boxes of federal Syntech.

I am ecstatic to report not one misfeed, fail to fire or fail to eject. Slide locks back on last round. Once the CM mags arrive I will be updating this post after another session. Thanks everyone! ✌

I tried the Chip McCormick and Wilson Combat mags. They would not seat flush and kept falling out without pressing the mag release. They both have a plastic piece on the bottom/front portion of the mag preventing them from seating all the way in that the Sig Sauer mags do not. Bought 3 more Sig P220 .45 10 round mags and they all work flawlessly. ✌
