P210 Sight Adjustment/Installation Tool

As some may already know, it is not easy finding a sight adjustment or installation tool for the P210 pistol. There were several various changes made in dimensions to this pistol throughout its life span which complicates things. The most common FRONT sight tool I have come across is the "C" clamp looking original Sig tool that seems to pop up now and then on the auction sights, but always brings big money. Unfortunately, this "C" clamp design does not fit all Sig P210's. While doing some research in this area I came upon a sight tool that I believe was made in Europe, possibly Germany, but as far as I can tell it is no longer available. I have posted a couple of pictures of this tool. Does anyone have an idea of who made the tool in my pictures and if it is still available. or better yet, does anyone have one of these tools? I would like to know what model P210 this tool works with. What makes the tool unique in the pictures is that it appears to work with both front and rear sights based on how you position the slide. Thanks for any help on this matter.

That's a very clever design, that appears to use a "standard" indicator gage. This would make it very easy to get the EXACT windage adjustment you want. Those gages are not that expensive, but a good slide tool body IS.

But, the important things with all slide tools are:
  • Make sure you have the correct sight for that model of handgun. Varies by model
  • Get the sight tool properly placed on the slide, and get the sight "started" properly so you don't damage the slide or the sight
  • Insert and remove the sight from the correct left or right side (which one is correct appears to vary by pistol model)
  • Do not force the sight. If you need excessive force, you are doing something wrong

I had almost given up on trying to locate a really good sight tool for my P210's until I stumbled onto pics of this one. It seems to be a very cleverly designed tool in as much as you can use it for front AND rear sights and you can actually measure movement with the attached dial indicator gage. I would love to find someone that has one and/or possibly put my hands on it to reverse engineer it. I would also like to see which model P210's this will work with. The front sight is the most problematic as it is quite narrow and on the P210 American very shallow with not much for a sight tool to grab onto. The ideal tool will apply its pressure to the sight base and not the sight blade. The hunt continues....

I would assume by the pics of the tool that it was intentionally designed the way it appears. I have no doubt that this was a very custom made tool that may have had a small amount of them made, but the quality seems superb. It is unfortunate that this tool wasn't a continuing product for the open market.
