Just came in this a.m. (Sat.) I'll try and get some pics up asap. Initial impression is just exceptional. The leather is so very soft and supple + light weight. The holster is very nice as well, although a little too tight. Alessi, suggests placing the pistol inside the plastic bag it came in, the wrapping the plastic around the pistol and then insert the pistol into the holster over night. We'll see how it turns out. I have tried it on, and can tell you that it feels fantastic. I just really like how soft and supple the leather is. This being my first ever shoulder rig, I can't really give an expert review, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know its exceptional quality. I believe color choices were brown/tan, black and mahogany. I chose the mahogany, and am very glad I did. Its very nice looking imho. I'll certainly be providing more feedback as time goes by. And hopefully have some pics up rather sooner than later. I wondered how I would like a Shoulder Rig. Alls I can say, is I, wish I would have gotten one years ago....I've also got to put some more rounds thru both X5's, as well as do some work with the Chrony in seeing what the 5" barrel will do with some Underwood ammo.

Well, bad news thus far concerning holster fit. She'll go in the holster fine, but the top strap will not reach to snap in place. Also, the extended mag release prevents the pistol from going any further into the holster.
Hmmm....makes me wonder if Alessi, really knows this model. Which is funny because its listed as X5 Competition on their website. One other thing, although trivial - I requested a single mag pouch, but was sent a double.
Furthermore, in the brochure I received, Alessi BodyGuard holster for Sig and Block have a top strap due to them having no external safties. The x5 comp has ambi thumb safety.
I'm guessing they just weren't paying attention.
I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

Sorry to hear of your trouble with the Alessi sigke. I'm not fond of the extended mag release on my X5 Comp – I'd like to replace it with a standard P226 mag release. That change would solve one of your Alessi problems.

I have no experience with the Alessi "speed break" retention system, but I don't think I'd like it – maybe you're lucky to get a thumb break holster.

I don't see any disadvantage to having two mag pouches instead of one – they'd provide better counter-balance for the three-pound X5.

Carrying an X5 – awesome, dude!

But, its actually a speed break + thumb strap.<snip>
I'm puzzled. I'd have expected the "speed break" for guns with a safety and a thumb break for guns without. Why both? Sounds a bit cumbersome.

Regardless, I'm happy to hear that the Alessi is now working well for you sigke.

Yeah, get those photos up! Does the pistol dangle if you lean forward? And does the holster remain securely in place when you draw the X5?

P. S. I see that you do have the photos up now. Thanks! The rig looks great!

*Up-Date*
Lol........I need to learn some PATIENCE.....after taking pics and calling Tom, the owner of Alessi, the darn thing fits perfectly! Tom, said it was perfectly natural, that the leather sweats in between transport from N.Y. to its destination. Basically, it just took it a couple days to loosen up. Man, I feel like a clown for not giving it enough time and posting this. But, alls well that ends well! Ill get some pics up very shortly.

Well, I am truly enjoying this Shoulder Rig!
Standing up, sitting down, driving, whatever; its just very comfy. The X5 is not the smallest pistol, but certainly not the biggest either. At any rate, its not near as bad as you would think. I'm gonna have other holsters done for the Rig, when I squire other Sigs, or whatever.

Its been wonderful. Driving its super nice.
Its just an Alessi man.....
Yes on the BodyGuard. And no on the top of the strap showing. It sets low enough I believe and doesnt move around if that makes sense. Just really nice and comfy. The holster was really tight when I got it. But i also discovered Mitch Rosens Leather Lightning. Works really good at making it easier to draw. Really slicks it up inside. And a gun will have plenty a hot spots inside the new holster - you know, where it will grab and scratch a little. But Rosens stuff takes care of that. Very good investment of 15 bucks imo. Sorry for the poor grammer. Mondays are just a busy time.....lemme know if I can help in any way.

Thanks for the info, sigke – sounds like good news, indeed. Very glad the holster is working out for you.

As it happens, I have a Mitch Rosen 5JR OWB holster on order for my P238. And that order included two bottles of Leather Lightning – one for the Rosen 5JR, and one for the (potential) Alessi Bodyguard, so I'm glad to hear of your endorsement of the L. L. product.

BTW – I'm thinking that the best way to apply the L. L. is to put it on the slide, then put the pistol into the holster. Is that the way you do it?

Thanks for sharing with us Sigke
I have been considering a Bodyguard for my 239 and then getting another holster for the rig of my 229. Your sharing has convinced me that it would be a good move on my part. Just may have to wait until after holidays abuse my wallet and my annual bonus comes in. Thanks again for sharing.
