Need holster for P220 5" 10mm

I have been unable to locate a holster for my new P220 10mm. I went to several gun shops today thinking that a standard 220 holster would work but that is not the case. Evidently the extra building up that Sig did for the P220 to withstand the rigors of full blown 10mm rounds has increased the size of the P220 exponentially.

I could not find a single holster that was made for Sig's or other pistol makes/models that this gun would even begin to slide in to.

I am looking for a right handed, LEATHER, OWB holster of some sort. I like Galco but at this point any leather OWB holster will do. If anyone sees something for this gun please drop a message here with a link as I am coming up with nothing in this search.

Thanks.

I tried a Yaqui Slide in the store the other day that was listed for a Sig P220. The 10mm version is way bigger width/thickness wise. It is amazing how much the 10mm version is "beefed up" compared to the .45 ACP version. It is such a difference that honestly Im surprised they still call it a P220.

I tried it in almost every holster the LGS had even Springfield, Sig, Colt, S&W, holsters. There docent seem to be ANY guns of this size or build. This thing will not fit in a single holster that I have found anywhere and to be honest, it won't even start in to most of them the first inch or two of the barrel/slide.

I wonder if the knife would scratch the slide in the yaqui holster picture? I realize this is just a modeled shot but I think I would be concerned about the little brass nub found on the side of my Levi's or anything else scratching my gun. I don't baby them but I try to be careful all the same. The P220 Elite I just bought cost more than my first car.

If a leather got close, real hot water will help reform it.

Nothing like carrying a holizer.
Makes my 938 seem downright puny.

I doubt you are going to find anything to fit it like you want. There just hasn't been a market for it. You should be able to find a cheap, large nylon holster (like an Uncle Mike's, maybe), but that is about it.

But now that you mention it...you've heard of "bikini holsters"? It might fight some full-size Kydex holsters with 1" or so of the muzzle sticking out the bottom like a semi-auto does in "bikini holsters". I need to test that with mine. I've never liked "bikini holsters" due to the lack of protection for the front sight, but there seems to be a market for them.

Anyway, that's my thoughts for the moment.

Hi Sniper, I feel your pain. I too visited a few of my LGS' and not any holster would fit. I am waiting for a local leather holster maker to have time to see what I have and help me figure out what will work for me and make it. I am expecting sometime in September at this point for a custom made leather holster. I will say though, the plastic LVL 1 holster that came with my SP2022 9mm does fit the P220 10mm. Although I am NOT a fan of using it for very long.

I have a Milt Sparks VM II that is leather, for my 220 compact. I bought the one for a full 220.
Last night, I tried my 220-10mm SSS-SAO and it fits very nicely.
Leather has a lot of natural give.
I find it also fits my 220-9mm and my 229 rail.

Galco Combat Master fits and works perfectly. Used this same holster for my P226 X-Five Comp - same model, CM248, fits both P226 and P220 pistols.

I want one for range use; nothing fancy.

I'm thinking of giving this Bianchi Model 7001 made for the P220 Match (a 5" P220) a try.

There are a bunch of different Model 7001 holsters. You have to go through the weapon selection for the P220 Match. The right-hand model is SKU: 1014355, Part: 24270.
$42.00.

I believe that it should work.

I had a similar one a long time ago for another gun and they are made well. Should make a good holster for the woods too.

The link below takes you to the page for the P220 Match version and you select right or left hand.

Here is a pic of "a 7001" for the Beretta.

Not that you are looking for a Kydex... But there is a good reason I use Bladetech... "If we make it it will be ready in 3 to 4 weeks... If we do not it will be 4 to 6 weeks..." They built their reputation on making holsters for anything... I don't use anything else... They also make custom sheaths for knives... That reminds me... I have to call a bout of few of those... I'll be back later on... LOL...
