Have a P226 .22 lr I got from my grandfather, looking for a threaded barrel for it. Can’t find much online that doesn’t say “discontinued” so any help in the right direction is appreciated.

thanks

This might be difficult. Sig discontinued the .22LR conversion kits some years ago, and even when they were in production it was before the suppressor boom (no pun intended) of recent years so threaded barrels weren’t as common as today. May want to call BarSto and see if they can do a custom one-off for you. Good luck and let us know if you find one.

The P series 220,226,229 22LR barrels are identical.

P229 Guide Rod is longer thn the P220/226 rod.

The pinned lug is marked on the RH side for the platform/ barrel to mount it to.

Ruger MkI & MkII magazine latch system is superior to the MkIII or MkIV push button/1911 magazine release.

IF,a magazine rattles in the frame/receiver...you will have feed issues.

I wonder how much pressure goes on the lug. Is this a part that could be 3D printed?
My threaded barrel is scheduled to arrive today. Hopefully I'll get a chance to knock out the pins, swap lugs, and try it on the range before the holiday.
Being a rimfire likely not much pressure... and in the cases of these Barrels, being made for the P220, as I mentioned earlier, should you desire using one for a P226, or P229R, which are the same overall length, swapping the lug from the unthreaded original Barrel, is all that is necessary. Finding replacement tension pins would be the most logical step to take, to ensure proper fitting and attachment of the lugs, as they would be the weakest link, so to speak.

The Sig conversion kits and threaded barrel can be a challenge to locate. Ebay, Gun Broker and simular are the places to find one that is being sold as the kits are out of production. A 22LR threaded barrel is another highly sought after (rare find) I recently viewed a Sig 22LR threaded barrel for sale and was $999.99. It took myself over year to locate one for sale and was pricey.
