I am probably opening Pandoras box but what would you recommend for a OWB/IWB holster (either Kydex or hybrid) for my P365? It is a standard slide on a 365XL grip no light or optics.

Thanks.

There’s a lot of good holster makers out there. A lot of it comes down to what you’re looking for aside from just generic IWB or OWB carry. If you want special light setups or anything, what type of clips and attachment method, how many clips. There’s a lot of options and they all do it a little differently. I can’t help you on OWB but IWB you can’t go wrong with something like a raven vanguard or MFT’s version for something minimalistic. G code is nice AF too for a super slim holster. McKinatecs are really good.

If you’re going to modify the gun I’d consider that before ordering a holster too. It may effect the use of one holster but not another, or may require one of the custom options. Holsters that you can’t use anymore because you changed one little thing add up and can get really expensive fast at $100 a pop and they don’t hold their value on the used market either.

IWB, Vedder lighttuck is truly amazing. I have one for all my guns. Everything is adjustable and they are super comfortable. They also have OWB options. I would skip any of the OWB/IWB convertible options. I found that any holster made for OWB is just too big for IWB. I have a crossbreed holster for my glock 19 that can be used OWB or IWB but it's just far too large for IWB.

People never seem to bat an eyelash on spending upwards of $3K on a self-defense pistol but are shocked speechless (except to complain) about having to fork over even $50 for a holster to carry the pistol in. In fact, they want a holster they can carry every pistol they own in.

You can throw away a lot of money buying and trying the gee-whiz-bang junk I see hyped everywhere (including here) or cut to the chase and take a look at Tony Kanaly's offerings at Milt Sparks (miltsparks.com) or the IWB & OWB offerings from MIke at Pocket Concealment Systems (pcsholsters.com). It says something when scalpers can easily get twice the retail price for a Milt Sparks holster on Amazon or eBay. Buy Once, Cry Once.

For IWB (not necessarily AIWB - but some of the below can work well AIWB) you might look at: and I prefer minimalist holsters (so not a big fan of bulky hybrids - and yes, I do have some that are relegated to the drawer)
  • bravo concealment torsion 3.0 (what I carry mostly)
  • SCK holsters (not well known, but one of my favs)
  • tulster
  • JM custom kydex
  • vedder light tuck - but 'd pick the above 4 over it
  • henry holsters

FOR OWB:
  • JM custom kydex
  • multi holsters
  • bravo concealment - but it rides just a tad high for me

There are other quality makers as well, but the above I have experience with. And it goes without saying, you need a real gun belt.

I have 3 holsters that work great for me. The other 35-40 are in storage. 😩
I have a Vedder Light Tuck, Milt Sparks VM2 and CrossBreed Super Tuck. They are my most used holsters by far. I carry them most of the time as they are designed IWB. However, when at the farm I simply carry them outside my pants under my belt. I have carried CrossBreeds that way for years with no issues. The Vedder and VM2 for a few months with same results. Guns carried most is USP Compact, P30sk, P2000sk and P365xl. The Sig most of the time since last July! It’s a CCW Dream.
