Cobbled together this 308 set up over the past month. Another stock spacer, change to a muzzle brake, add couple sling swivels - and she's good to go...

Here's our 308 girls - SIG SSG 3000 bolt (German) and PWS piston AR10 (Idaho, USA)

SSG 3000 with her Steiner 5-25x56mm scope. She weights 'bout 14.3lbs .. lots of headroom in the mag .. wish these mags were available!!

Very light trigger - feels like 2.5lbs or so. Nice place for a secondary safety release button - just above the trigger.

Steiner scope - Highly recommended!!

6 lug bolt feels very smooth. Extractor looks a lot like my Sig Mk25's.

These 3000s have been out of production for a year now...

We'll shoot her break-in next month. Don't have a lot of experience with bolt guns, but she seems like a keeper!!

LOL!! Outrageous - but, happy to have a few extra mags - and really not a big deal...

With this Fall 'long gun armory project', we now have 3 bolt guns .. probably all we 'need' .. in 300WM the Browning X-Bolt hunter feels light'n fast, the Barrett's a stud .. But, this Sig SSG 3000 feels very good & super-solid too, has several really trick features - no range time yet - but I really like this Sig bolt gun!!

Think she's a Tiger Tank - hiding in a 308 rifle!!

Oh FYI, I'm traveling and can't order now, but SGammo has Fed's 308 Match ammo in 200rd cases under $200...

Lookin good KC45
Hahaa! Thanks OG!! Yeah, really like this rifle. Grew-up with warm wood stock rifles, adult life with metal AR type rifles .. and this SIG SSG's black, more full-bodied stock rifle has lifted this guy's skirt!

There's strength & substance in the way she feels in the hands. This gun weighs
'bout the same as our Barrett rifle, but the Sig has this ploy stock with smooth, rounded contours makes her more 'approachable'.

I know - sounds weird, but you can comfortably swing SSG over your shoulder without grimacing with one of the Barrett's metal edges. Yeah, she sort'a punk, perhaps a little sleeze too - but we kind'a like her anyway...

Quick update on Deutschland rifle SIG SSG 3000 project. Only couple range visits over the holidays. Am still shooting her initial break-in - building a nice even copper fouling for smooth, consistent bore. I do a shoot/clean process that isn't fast, her round count's at 30rds.

Haven't run any nice target ammo yet, just the fun/cheap stuff - American Eagle. But, she shoots this 168g AE out 100yds pretty good.

And - Good Lord - this Steiner's the best glass I've ever shot!!

Oh, she want's me to add that so far - SIG SSG 3000 out-shoots the Barrett...

Yeah, both bipods work well - the Atlas is a much cleaner system.

Here's a Harris bipod on AR10 that works fine, and there are a BUNCH of elements there.

The Atlas on SIG's SSG3000 works well too, and pretty simple bipod...
