Cz Rami with 14 round extended mag is probably the closest thing to what you want.

 

For polymer-frame DA/SA, the HKs are my favorite by far. The SK versions of the P2000 and P30 might fit the bill. A P225-A2 would be cool, but I doubt SIG would make one.

No they won’t build it. I’ll console myself with a Beretta PX4 Compact Carry 2. A little chunky, but a real smoothie.

Not to mention CZ and HK. SIG just put out the SigPro model 30 years ago and never attempted to make a poly DA/SA again.

Nobody wants a p225 guys. Quit living 40 years behind the times. Same goes for p239. Who wants to hump around a 3 lb pistol with 8 rounds in it? Come on, quit living in the past.

 

Both of those guns are my favorites. I EDC a P239 everyday.

 

Springfield Armory came out with the thin XD-E external hammer fired poly frame DA/SA pistol and it did poorly and was discontinued. SA could have reformatted it to be higher capacity but didn't bother. Due to to mechanism of the DA/SA external hammer fired system it can never be as compact as striker fired and as much as I love DA/SA external hammer fired pistols they have become more of a niche these days as shooters love the simplicity of the striker fired pistols. HK came out with the VP9 series (outstanding pistol) and it outsells their hammer fired stuff by a mile. I do have a hammer fired carry option for myself the HK P30SK LEM and it is superb but not a thin pistol like the P365/Shield Plus/etc.

 

Well, I would buy any of the classic P series with polymer frames if they made them. I don't really care about capacity. Single stack is fine. Obviously it will never happen. Instead of poly DA/SA guns the market has moved the other way and they are making steel framed striker guns(!). The world has gone mad.

As for the "Why polymer" questions, don't be intentionally obtuse. Polymer framed guns are lighter, cheaper, (and I hate to say it) more durable than aluminum alloy. Steel guide rails in a polymer frame are going to have a longer service life than the alloy rails on our Sigs. The rails are one of the first things a Sig guy checks when looking at a used pistol.
Yes, I know that a classic Sig has a certain character and feel to it. But hell, most of what you are holding is plastic grip anyway.

 

Steel has the advantage of being really heavy which benefits recreational shooting. Polymer is lightest and most rugged. I don't know what the advantage of alloy is other than that classic Sig old school goodness...

 

No more plastic or striker fired for me.
