Hello all,
Brand new to the forum and have a quick question.

I am about to pull the trigger and have the MPX integrally suppressed. I am leaning towards: Ronin Arms MPX-SD Conversion. They offer a full size and a K version. Is there any advantage of the 8" or the 12" silencer over the other? I know that the shorter the better for compact spaces and being a "truck" gun. However not sure how much more suppression the 12" will have or will it even be noticeable. As far as price they are both the same.

My MPX is a Gen 1 so not every place will do the integral conversion.

I would go with the 8” for portability reasons. The 9mm is easy to suppress so an 8” will be plenty. A 12” suppressor would be too much in my opinion.

Welcome from Arizona by the way 🌵

Welcome! I would think that any smaller can will be a bit louder than one with more volume...so yeah I guess it comes down to where it will be used mostly. In small confines like with a true sub gun, or just easier portability like a short rifle. Personally, if it was the same barrel length I'd probably go short, especially if the round will end up being subsonic anyway.

Here may be a little insight...

I'd go with the shorter K version.

In an attempt to get any kind of reasonable accuracy out of my MPX SBR suppressed, I did a "DIY" SD conversion. I used the ILWT SD barrel, and went with a B&T MP5SD-K suppressor. The suppressor is 9.5" long, and with Rob's barrel, ended up being just a little longer than I'd like. The hand guard is an 8" MI, the same one Ronin uses on his K conversions. The Ronin looks to be several inches shorter.

At least, that's the route I'd go if I was going to do it over again. I may pick up one of the new B&T modular MP5SD suppressors when they become available, that wold give me the option of getting it shorter if I wanted.

I went with the K version, for my MPX. The sound difference, between the two sizes, has more to do with tone, than decibel level. Before I knew about Ronin, I bought an SD barrel, from ILWT, to use with my B&T suppressor, on my MP5SD. I bought an additional longer hand guard and gave myself the ability to configure both sizes.

Old bump

I went with the ILWT barrel and B&T Suppressor BT-SD-988010-3-US, just under 9.5. Works great and love to shoot it

Unfortunately can't find these particular B&T suppressors in stock any more

Then decided to do the Ronin MPX SD K with 8" suppressor. Pricey, but it's pretty awesome. Cut down a Midwest Industries 10.5" handguard to give me a bit more space.

So there is no B&T suppressor you can pair with ILWT barrel? Was Ronin mpx a llot better?
