I’ve been waiting for this gun for years. I’ll finally jump into the micro 9 craze that’s dying out lol. The P365 is just too small. The distance from the front strap to the backstrap just doesn’t work for me and the LoP sucked because of that. This has a more normal sized grip while still being 0.99” wide. Lots of testing went into this gun too. I know this is a SIG forum but I trust my HKs above all else. Hopefully this new American HK lives up to German HKs standards. Only negative thing I have to say about it is no paddle release sucks and it doesn’t have that Sexy HK look. Neither of those things is going to keep me from picking one up though.

While the H&K is only slightly larger than the P365, I wouldn't want to go any bigger. The P365 works well for pocket carry, but any bigger and it wouldn't. I also don't own any guns with a trigger safety, and never will.
Good observation on the size topic.

I think the day late and a dollar short thing certainly applies here. When your the last one to the table you really need to bring something special to get noticed and I don’t think they did. It’s bigger than some of the others, holds the same amount of rounds WHILE being bigger and doesn’t bring anything new to stand out. On top of that it may be the most expensive one in the category? It also doesn’t help that it looks like a Taurus either.

With that said I do think they will have some success with it once the teething issue are resolved. HK fans will be the majority of the buyers I think, new gun owners will most likely go for less expensive options. People like me that are already owners of competitive guns in the market are less likely to buy another gun that they don’t need and does the same thing.

It will be interesting to see if they try to expand into different models like Sig has done with the 365 but that will probably depend on how successful it is.

For me, this new HK cc9 moves into the number three spot right behind the CZ p10s and p365, but I was never a fan of the other micro and sub-compacts from Glock, Walther, Beretta, S&W.

I'll probably buy one because it's an HK and modular- but only if I get a free hat, T-shirt, or pinup calendar. :ROFLMAO:

The new HK cc9- made in the USA! It has a Modular FCU, American style (button) magazine release, and it has a trigger dingus drop safety. It's a hair taller and longer than the p365, but about the same width:

Wow...way to go HK. So cutting edge...and it only took you, what, 5 years?

Other than the p365 & now this new HK cc9, do any of the other poly-striker micro pistols feature a modular FCU?

I was issued an H&K USP .40 caliber with Law Enforce Modification from TSA when I was a Captain at AA. I did not like that gun at all, and the magazines issued were terrible with the end plates coming off when dropped on the concrete deck during training. Two friend‘s guns broke and had to be replaced. I am no fan at all of H&K. TSA now issues Glocks to airline FFDOs. Federal Air Marshals are issued Sig .357 pistols.

My EDC guns are two Sigs, P365 XL & P365 X.

Pretty much the size of a 43X.
No love for this new HK...
As pistols get smaller, the differences in size get smaller, and in that context the new HK CC9 even with the extended 12 round mag- is a noticeably smaller pistol than the Glock g43x. (But the cc9 is still a little bigger than the p365).

The height listed in this chart for the cc9 is with its 12 rnd extended mag:

As an owner of both a 365 and 365XL, I don't see what the new HK offers that is unavailable in other platforms. While I have no doubt that this new HK, like other HKs, is a terrific gun, I'm surprised they are bringing it to market in a segment saturated with alternatives. That said, I'm not a marketing guy so there's that...
