Interested in the conclusions of those experienced with both pistols.
Which do you prefer from the perspective of:
1. performance AND
2. maintenance / maintainability?
Note - do not include cost as a consideration. I have both options available at very competitive prices.
Thank you for sharing!

CZ SP-01 all the way. Not that the P-09 is a bad pistol but I much prefer an all steel one. IMO, I've seen no other pistol that combines accuracy, reliability, comfort and affordability in one package better then the SP-01. If you have the funds to get both I would, if not I would without question get the SP-01 first. With regards to maintenance and maintainability there CZ's. As long as you keep them cleaned and lubed I've never head of anyone having a problem with either.

SP 01 will just work and work and work. As stated, clean it lube it and shoot it. If you are not using it for a carry gun think about putting some Cajun Gun Works parts in it and it just gets better. The none carry gun qualifier is based on my belief to not have a modified "killer gun" in the event of appearance in court.

THANK YOU ALL for your replies. CDK that was a very unique way of putting it. I will remember the "that pistol is cheating" statement!

All of you are convincing me toward the SP-01. I will make a decision based upon a test of one this weekend, however, I am expecting the test to confirm that it is a winner.

Yeah I have both, and the P-09 will never compare to the SP-01. You just can't get a polymer frame gun trigger to beat a steel frame gun trigger (not even with a CGW kit...). After you've had the SP-01 for a while you might feel like getting the polymer P-09 just for kicks. But when you start to feel that way slap yourself and buy a Glock.
Or spend the money and invest in a CGW trigger & hammer kit for your SP-01 ....
