I really loved the caption under one of their pictures toward the bottom: "Fits stylishly on your pistol." - About as stylish as a giant afro wig on a bald 80 year old white man!

On a serious note, I think it would be terribly distracting to have that cage on the side of my gun and not too great for side to side balance either.

OMG how much stuff can you hang on that little gun.
Just stick your gun hand in a net bag and shoot thru it (JOKING) to catch your brass.
Perhaps a mosquito netting tent with a gunport. Then just roll up tent brass and all, done deal.
Allen Bundy where you at when we need ya?
Lookin around for hidden camera...

The video showed the shooter couldn't even get a proper grip. I collect my spent brass and this gismo would be the last thing I'd use. The brass collector tarp works better. I'm actually surprised how many brass catching devices there are available. Before I bought one new, I'd look around garage sales - there's bound to be some there because they look good initially, but like most gimmicks, they end up as surplus.

Good point, I did miss that.
Having said that most indoor ranges I have been to have no issue with me collecting my own brass as long as it is behind the line in my own station. If you ask them nicely if you are able to do this, then most "reasonable" ranges will let you. (Your mileage may vary)
To paraphrase one of the RO's "Less work for me. I 'd rather not sweep up brass all day."

One thing I will say about my Sig 1911, using my reloads, the brass lands about a foot to my right. My least expensive 1911 is a RIA "Rock". The extractor in that gun isn't worth tuning and needs to be replaced. The Rock will throw brass all over the place, so a stand-alone brass catching net might be nice.

I am guessing most of us do not live where we can shoot in our back yards.

You would use it only at the range if you reload your own OR if you were a criminal to make sure you don't leave brass with your fingerprints on them.

Fair enough. I was not implying you were a criminal. My apologies.

I made one out of window screen (plastic). I measure how high I held the gun from the bench and took a stick of 1/2” PVC, some 90° elbows and glued a “base” together, everything else I sanded the ends so they would slide together easier. The screen I made into a bag so all of it fit in it, everything hit the screen and either stays on the table or just under it.
