Hammer, punches, and vice. I change my own sights all the time. The Wheeler is a nice product but mostly collects dust on my shelf.

 

I use my Wheeler and punches equally. Wheeler is great for rear sights and front night and standard sights. It can’t be used for Dawson Precision front sights, which require a hammer and punch. I also use the hammer and punch for LPA adjustable target style sights.

This is the one I use and love it, just use a soft faced hammer to tap the Jaws.

I bought a 50 dollar one and you get what you par for because it's very easy to bend or break the Front site etc, the cheap ones just don't work that well in my opinion...

I have the same sight pusher and installed some new sights on my 84 HK P7 PSP. Worked like butter.

Going to use to install some Ameriglo sights on my Sig P220 Dark Elite soon.

It is sturdy and can drift sights.

 

After much research and thought I just asked sigguy could he recommend one and he said he use this one so I ordered it and have used it on P365, P320, P226, P229 and P250. No issues.

Been looking at that one for myself. It's outta stock @ Weeler's site as well. For a higher cost $169

 

The best sight pusher outside of the hydraulic rams used in the shop is the MGW Sight Pro or the slightly smaller version, the Range Master. Pricey but it will never become obsolete.

I have a MGW Sight Pro also. Quality equipment. If you are serious about gunsmithing, hobby like me or pro, it's a good one to have.

I have the wheelers, it works and I've changed sights on probably 10+ pistols but its not the best. Not a bad choice for the price but the MGW ones look way better

Looks like modified version of the wheelers with improved slide clamps but a worse sight pusher as you have to slide the top piece up to clear the sight to get to the other side if you pushed it too far.

 

Worth every penny…

Just get the Wheeler.

 

Best sight pusher is an aluminum sight punch from Dawson Precision a 60* sight file and a jewelers hammer. Sights should be fit. Using a ram or pusher can damage the slide and the sights.

Pretty much all of the cheaper pushers rely on a coarse-threaded drive.
This limits their power.

might as well . If your going to use a vise to force a sight into the dovetail anyway..

 

I wasn't trying to be funny, I've used a mallet for 30 years on dovetail sights.

You hit them.... they move.

Was a gift from my wife for Christmas about 5 years ago.

I've only used punches or nylon drift punches.

 

MGW SIGHT PRO. Without a doubt. I’ve replaced several sets of sights without a scratch. Expensive but worth every penny.
