Not overtly, I believe. There's a (serial?) number and a scan picture (terminology?) on the underside of the trigger guard piece that Sig probably can relate to.

Edit: If it has the 'nipple' on the button it's the newer version. But who cares, if it works well for you, right?

LIMA365 Button Fix

Putting glue to raise the external button did not help fix it for me. I even tried several layers of 3m tape just to make it super thick and it still didn't work correctly. I ended up cutting the button off to see what was underneath it.

Under the rubber button is a stem that pokes the actual silver button underneath. I added something in between the stem and the silver button; and then taped the rubber button back on with 3m friction tape.

The laser now activates flawlessly without me having to think about pressing the button. It just works.

Edit: Before you all cut your buttons off (be careful if you do), try just using friction tape to add more pressure to the button. Maybe that will work? Since I cut my button off before I thought of this, I wasn't able to test it.

This seems to work best for my hand...cut the "hump" out of the Hogue grip...that allows my finger to actuate the button with a firm grip and gives the benefits of the Hogue...I tried it with the "hump" first and it didn't work for me...the "hump" prevented my finger from putting enough pressure on the button...

I cut out a small piece of industrial velcro and put it on top of the button. I get the industrial because the glue on it is rated for higher temps (like in a hot car). This works good although I must admit on my other P365, the one I carry, i have the CT laser on it.

What works for me was a combo approach: First I placed a small rubber washer (maybe 3/16" dia.) over the button tip projection. Then gave it a few wraps with black electrical tape, making sure to not pull too tight and also using scissors to cut the tape so as not to pucker the ends. That in itself would have worked just fine, but in order to reduce wear on the tape seams and reduce heat/sweat transfer from your hand/holsters/etc... I recommend adding a single wrap of double sided 2" heavy duty velcro which fits the P365XL grip perfectly and it has no sticky adhesives on it. I also like the feel it gives my hand on the gun's grip. I prefer the "soft" side of the velcro out but you can try it both ways and see what works best for you. Some may not like the looks of this setup or think that it's too much Mcgivering for them, but it works like a charm for me and I think it looks fine.

Just ordered one of these from amazon. They have them marked down to $180 from $199 right now with a few left if anyone wants to save $20 or so. It was the cheapest I found that actually had them in stock right now. I am hopeful I won't have an issue with my grip and the button, but we shall see.

CT lasers versus Lima and why I use one

In reading many reviews about the Lima, I decided to spend the extra money and get the CT instead, in green. The button operates MUCH easier, and never fails to illuminate with a normal grip and no thought or effort. The laser is brilliant even in direct sunlight, so there is no "looking around for a green dot." You can't help but see it immediately.

Why use one? Well for me, and the use of my weapon as a home defense gun for protection in the event of a home invasion or break-in, it's for faster target acquisition, and the safety of knowing where my bullet's going to go.

I live in a densely populated subdivision of frame houses, and don't want a stray going out a window into a neighbor's house. I can automatically tell if the laser is on a wall or window versus a perp's chest. I can't do that when I'm trying to use my iron sights, because I'm spending all my effort trying to make sure they're lined up with each other.

Next thing is that I have dry eye syndrome. My eyes dry out at night when I'm sleeping, and when I first wake up, are stuck to my eyelids and my vision is so blurry I can't read the alarm clock right next to me, but I can see about 10 feet away.

I also have astigmatism in my right eye which would be my sighting eye for the iron sights, and I'm right handed. In addition to the twist of the astigmatism, my depth perception is off because my right eye fights my good left eye. My left eye is 20/20 but I can't really do a left eye sight down the iron sights easily with the gun in my right hand.

My only issue so far is that to zero in a laser (yes you need to do that) they sell a laser cartridge that fits in the gun's bore. You chamber it like you would a regular round. It is battery driven and puts a dot out just like the trigger laser. You sight the trigger laser in to the bore laser. I ordered a green Crimson Trace, and a red bore laser. My issue is that the bore laser isn't seating properly and the slide won't return all the way forward, so it's not chambering properly. Working on solving that problem now with the sell of the bore laser.

As of recently I have been seeing that the SS Lima lasers have come down in price drastically. I can only imagine this either means high inventory levels or there’s a newer version coming out.

Regardless, for $125 I think it Is worth trying it out. I have one on order and can report back soon. Fingers crossed I don’t have the same poor experience like most other people.

Surprisingly enough, even looking at the reviews of Sig products on their website...even something as simple as a mounted light gets poor reviews.

I bought and installed the LIMA last week. No problems with actuation for me. Sight adjustment was a pain without a click adjustment, but when dialed in was a pleasure to shoot with confidence. Makes my SAS a perfect pocket carry

Well.....I tried the LIMA365 and 'fixed' it by sending it back to Amazon and got the CT green instead; which works 100%. Love it!! Much better than irons for these 'ol eyes.

I have an Alabama pocket holster incoming for it and IMHO this is the perfect pocket-carry setup, at least for me. I also have an XL with a Romeo Zero and the presentation with both eyes target focused and just driving out with the dot on target is now the same for either pistol. Never even look at the irons anymore, but they're still there just-in-case.

I ordered a SIG LIMA green laser from Amazon, which was easy to install, and etc, but have two problems with it.

#1 - The pointed activation button lines up with the fold on the inside of my finger, so either death grip or adjust grip in order to activate.
#2 - When installed and properly tightened down, there's a gap between the sight and the rail, so it can move side to side
#3 - Having to remove the sight in order to change batteries might be a PITA, but without the other problems, I could live with that.

Assuming this was a defective sight, I sent it back to Amazon, and ordered a replacement. The replacement has the exact same problems. I have mounted and used several Crimson Trace lasers through the years, and in comparison, have never had a problem with any of them.

The reason I prefer the SIG LIMA over the Crimson Trace is that it blends so well into my P365XL's profile, and is so slim that I am able to use my existing holster. I would have paid more than the price of a Crimson Trace in order to have such a slim profile. *** SIG? Why would you tarnish your brand by releasing such a flawed product, and then not address those flaws. As it stands, I believe this is a $50 plastic sight with a $200 price tag.

This thread is dated, but I hoped that there might be alternate solutions before I completely give up on SIG?

My 2 cents: If you alter the LIMA to attempt a work-around...you're stuck with it.
No need to beat a dead horse. Send the LIMA back to Amazon, order the CT LG-422 green laser, and never look back.

IF your current holster won't fit, you can probably sell it on SIGTalk classifieds (I did) and put $ toward one that's right with the CT. -JMO

I have an XL with the Lima. When I first installed it, it had a little play and was not snug. I took it apart and reinstalled it this time making sure that the second half mated properly with the first half which has the trigger guard cover and activation button. There is a small plastic nub on the second half that didn't go in right the first time, but when I fitted it correctly and tightened the two screws the entire assembly fit tightly. See below (pay no attention to the texture I added to the Lima for my support hand thumb).

I watched this video:
The guy in the video mentions the plastic nub and shows it. I had trouble getting that to fit and had to try inserting it from different angels until I found the right one.

I find that the XL grip is a little small for my hand so I use a grip sleeve from Hogue. I tried the one they sell that covers the beaver tail and that did not work well for me so I am now using their regular one for the XL. I mention this because I had the same issue you are having with the activation button but with the grip sleeve over it, it activates just fine. The middle pad of my middle finger is what covers the activation button and a death grip is not required. Perhaps the addition of a grip sleeve will change the geometry for you so a different part of you finger will activate the Lima.

Button activation is a well known issue for the LIMA365, especially when the "crook/recess" of the finger meets the button. I used a small band of bicycle innertube around the grip/button, and underneath my Hogue Grip. Note the Hogue Grip is not the problem, difficult activation is the same without it.

Not sure I'm posting this correctly... Button activation is a well known issue for the LIMA365, especially when the "crook/recess" of the finger meets the button. I used a small band of bicycle innertube around the grip/button, and underneath my Hogue Grip. Note the Hogue Grip is not the problem, difficult activation is the same without it. Rough fix but it works for me.
