Belly band.....

I carry my 365 in a paddle holster from Concealment Express - and it is, hands down, the BEST Kydex holster I've ever used.
BUT.....
My wife will pretty much only carry with a belly band holster. She wears a lot of stretchy pants, no belt, etc., and really likes the belly band around the ranch and especially on horseback. BUT HER PISTOL HAS FALLEN OUT OF THE HOLSTER. TWICE! It's made by something called Tactica Defense Fashion. It looks good - but the retention just plain sucks, no matter how much I tighten it down. There is not that wonderfully satisfying "snick" like on a quality Kydex piece. Does ANYONE make a good belly band/Kydex holster with a comfortable band and a Kydex holster with really good retention!?
I'm thinking about getting another Concealment Express paddle holster, removing the paddle, removing the current holster on her belly band, and bolting on the CE one. lol
Any thoughts?

I'm awaiting delivery on an Alien Gear Sport Tuck belly band - basically a band that has hooks to insert/immobilize an IWB Cloak Tuck 3.5 holster to the body. I saw one of our members say good things about it, and look forward to trying it for those situations where normal carry isn't so convenient.

By the way, I previously tried the Low Pro belly band - integrates the holster with the band. It was a no-go for me. The outer kydex shell was not strongly enough connected to the underlying material to keep the pistol well secured. I could push it and it would move out of position. Returned for an exchange to try the Sport Tuck version.

If you don't find what you are looking for specifically, and decide to "make" your own...know that Urban Carry holsters have a retention system that works. And is adjustable for more or less. Add it (sew it) to a "back brace" and you have a utilitarian "belly band" that will keep your firearm concealed and secure.

Here's an earlier thread not too old I follow that might offer you some good information.

Thanks Nev! That's the one that influenced me to try the Sport Tuck...@AzMaz had good things to say in a thoughtful review. I really appreciate forum members sharing these experiences - otherwise, tough to figure out where to start on something like belly band.

My Alien Gear continues to be great for what I use it for. When I take my dog out in the morning I usually wear adidas athletic pants and a t-shirt and my Alien Gear works perfectly. The kydex holster snaps securely and retention is very secure. My P229 has never come close to falling out.

I'm a big fan of the Phlster Enigma. It's my go-to holster setup 99% of the time. It's expensive for what it is, but it is really top notch when it comes to concealment. I can really go into depth about it's pros and cons over anything else. If concealment/printing is not a huge concern, there are plenty of cheaper options such as the Comfort Concealment band and others.

There are many brands of BB's that have a thumb break snap strap on them for retention. More comfortable than with kydex too. Crossbreed makes an integrated kydex belly band that look pretty good too.
