I changed the column heads from slide to frame, which is more accurate?
Now your really getting complicated.
The 229/228 frame could not go up. The 229-1 frame is a 40 frame so can do it all.
I think staying with slide is good.
Also your chart had the 239 correct before Thinkfirst's question.
the 239 can use standard barrels for all three.
It is a great chart.

40 or 357 cases will not feed into the 9mm breechface.

I have a 229 in .357sig. I also have a compensated .40 barrel. With the .40 barrel, I'm shooting low. Would I have to change the sights also if I want to swap over? I understand the differences in flight pattern between both rounds. Just trying to find the cheapest and most reliable solution. Any suggestions?

Thanks to all for your comments, I think we are getting close to nailing this down and then we can add other pistols. Based on some of your comments I have tried to make it read a little more user-friendly.

I have added footnotes so let me know if there should be any other item denoted with a footnote.

I have read a handful of threads dealing with with caliber pistol will take which caliber barrels, slides, etc. I have a quick little table here that I would like to get your comments and feedback as to accuracy. I can create these for any pistol we would deem necessary and have them available for all us newbies to reference.

Many thanks in advance. :)

I would add what you need and don’t need. As an example:
You have a P239 40 S&W and want to convert it to 9mm.

You would need (1) 9mm magazine (2) Recoil Spring (3) whatever.

Give them enough information so they can at least have a 80% solution.

I have a 239-40/357/9mm and all I needed was barrels. Most newer springs will do it all. Worn ones may not.
The mags. do all three calibers 100%

Hi guys. New to the forum. I'm in the process of getting a 239 in 40s&w. Now if I understand you correctly all I have to change is the barrel to shoot 357 sig and 9mm. No other changes need to be made such as magazines?

Hello and great job,

P220 also has a .22 conversion kit.

It would also be nice to know what is the source of the conversion. For example the caliber exchange kits are Sig, what about the conversion barrels? Barstow?

thanks

I will look to add that data over the weekend. Thanks for the heads up.

I have a 226 originally chambered in 40 cal. I bought stock sig replacement barrels from Top Gun Supply in 9mm and 357sig and the barrels all work fine in the gun. 9mm doesn't feed reliably in the sig 40/357 mags but my 40 cal mecgar mags will. It may have to do with the mag followers.

I also own a 2022 in 40 and did the same thing. The 9mm 2022 stock replacement barrel fits that gun perfectly however the sig 40 cal mags wont feed 9mm reliably. Any more than 10 9mm rounds and the rounds will bind in the mag.

On the Top Gun Supply website it says the 9mm replacement barrel doesn't fit on .357 or .40 cal P239 slides.
So I'm confused. Can someone comment?
Sig P239 Replacement Barrel - 9mm - Top Gun Supply
Welcome to SIG Talk!

I have a P239 originally chambered in 40 S&W. Additional purchases of a barrel in 357 SIG and 9mm accompany this handgun. All three barrels work fine in the handgun. The breech end of the 9mm barrel is a little thinner to accommodate the narrow breech face of the 9mm slide. I believe this is the difference they are pointing to. I find, in spite of this, the 9mm barrel locks up just fine in the 40 S&W slide, the barrel hood secures it quite well in the slide.

I have also had good luck feeding the 9mm rounds from 40 S&W and 357 SIG magazines. I would, however, recommend using the appropriate magazines should the handgun be used for defensive purposes.

Enjoy your P239!
