I followed it since it was introduced. I thought it was interesting. I think it will be a niche cartridge. He11, I’m still stumping for more 5.7x28 support! 😎

 

Once you look at the details of the 30 Super objectively, you'll find it has great merit. Just not much acceptance by other gun vendors. I had a custom 327 magnum revolver made up and that cartridge is awesome - this coming from a 10mm/375 H&H fan. Market friction is the only thing holding back the 30 Super. It's taken 40 years for the 10mm to finally get some traction. The 5.7 is about 35 y/o and just getting more traction. The guns have to come first.

I have irrational disdain for the round that I'll likely never get past.

It was developed, introduced and marketed at time when the guns & ammo industry was unable to meet the market demands due to the way things had degraded in our society and many new gun owners were securing guns and ammo.

Meanwhile....some marketing execs felt it was genius to divert resources and capacity towards the manufacturing of the .30 Super Carry.


Nope.....I'll not get over that heartburn anytime soon.
