just traded for a west german p226 which has no rail for a light on the bottom. I would like to add a light to the bottom, but not sure if there is a good option for adding a rail to this gun. Not sure if i even should add a rail, curious about yalls opinions and advice. thanks

I have one with no rail and one with.

Since I help and hunt a realitive's ranch I carry the one with rail with a light attached. It is in 357 and I know it will take a deer out to 50 yard(energy wise). This is handy if I walk up on a hog, Buck in rut, coyote or puma. Yes they are all on the property(burnet county Texas).

Otherwise my 9 mm is in my everyday carry rotation. 1987 made and only thing I have had done to it is fresh night sites.

The railed sits in a night stand mounted holster when home. I want something for the two legged vermin.

Dom, the rail being talked about isn't a light mounting rail on the bottom of the frame. It is the rail that attaches the frame to the slide. It makes the slide move backwards to eject the fired round, and put a new round into the chamber, to go into battery. that is the rail that needs to be greased. get guys are real good here maybe one will show a picture of the rails that need to be greased. I am an old man and don't know how to post pictures.;)
