A P228R? R?

If you like a P228 with rail, then this is it. If not, get the one without. That's the only difference. Of course, that frame is a P229R frame with the hooked trigger guard.

So what mags will work or are the proper mags for fit ?
Is it the regular P228/P229 mags ? Not the P229-1 mags.

So what I'm thinking about is was there ever a overlap of production of a P228/P229 9mm and the P229 9mm that takes the P229-1 mags ?
I need to get that book but it may not answer many of my questions.

 

Never seen the R version. Was this a short run?

I've always been more favorable to pistols without rails.
Matter of fact, I don't like rails.

How do I explain buying a CZ 75 P01.....A rail gun?

I could very easily be talked into buying a p228 with a rail in a very like manner. Is a pistol in the hand worth two in the bush?

OK, now I'm going to say that I'm pretty certain that you're not going to see me with a doodad hanging off my rail.....ever....but not never.

 

Original owner, box, 2 - 13 round magazines. Asking $700.

 

Yeah, if the Jack Gauge was pointing to flush I'd snap it up. Not a bad price.

But I'm a confirmed back slider in the 1st degree.

 

These were just excess P229R frames that SIG used to make the P228R. Whatever extras they had on hand, they made the P228R. They made them in 2009 (German made US assembled) and 2010 (German made, assembled and proofed). The German proofed (BA date) guns were imported by SIG NH and released in 2011.

 

That's on my list of guns to get.

 

I saw this as well. I’d be interested in picking it up because I (if I am correct) would be able to mix and match with my P229 CC. Actually I’d rather have the P228R over the P239 I recently acquired and I listed my P239 when I saw that ad just to see if there was any interest. Lol

Pick it up this afternoon. No scratches on the slide or frame. Barrel has slight smile and barrel hood just a little wear. Internals look clean. Came with two 13 round magazines and a kydex holster. I think I got a fair deal at $650.

It has good ole Von Stavenhagen sites. Which I am a big fan of. Hogue G10 Piranha grips and super strut and short seat incoming.
