who is using a P320 .357 Sig for EDC? or other purpose? what model, size? what is your experience w the round, is it the only round you carry? What ammo do you range/ carry with?

I don’t carry EVERY day but when I do it’s with.357 sig. I do prefer my 229 or 239 for carry over my 320 but that’s just my personal preference. I’ve used several different brands of ammo, Sig, Speer, PPU, even some Federal. Sig Hp’s are loaded in my guns but I don’t shoot them regularly at a range, just fmj.
The round isn’t for everyone but it’s the only thing I use in a handgun (except.22).

I have a P226, P229, and P320 compact (3.9-inch barrel) in .357 SIG. At least for me, there is not much difference between the three. I find the P320 the easiest to carry among the three, i.e., lightest and most compact, and have no problem with recoil as compared to the metal frame pistols. The P226 and P229 are both DAK variants and are equally easy to carry, partially based on the type of holster I prefer (OWB).

While I own a .357 P320 it is full size and not my routine EDC. Afield, I find it shoots flatter (and louder) than the same gun in .40.
I do plan to eventually build a SC/XC sized .357 when funds allow.
If you shoot .40 and .357 using the same slide and sights you will likely experience a POI shift. Up to you if can live with it or make adjustments.

My issued gun (so I carry it most days) is a P320 in .357 and I love the way it shoots. The P320 is not my favorite platform but I have nothing bad to say about it, particularly when chambered in .357 SIG. It hits where I aim and handles the slight increase in recoil (over 9mm) quite well. The only reason I don't shoot it more is the continued lack of .357 SIG ammo availability in the Post-2020/COVID market.

I also have a P229 in .357 and carry it once in a while; it is probably my favorite pistol in the caliber and I have shot most of the SIG and Glock varieties.

I've been looking at the 229 and 226 heavily through this 'process'. I was a .40 guy for a while, before the recent improvements w bullet specs (underwood specifically) had a Glock 27 and then a Kahr MK40 Elite that I liked 11x better than the glock but both were nice shooters..

At the time, I didn't think the difference in output was enough to consider the Sig 357, due to cost. Similarly, I moved back down to 9mm when I looked at Underwood specs for the +p+ 9mm screwdriver tip defense rounds.. which was running hotter/ hitting harder than a lot of .40.

I've decided to get either a 226/ 229 but after I sort out the P320 solutions and familiarize myself w the hype and handling of the .357 round.

This all changed when I saw the 65 grain and 100+ gr. .357 Sig data.. especially out of a 4.5" or longer barrel.. clocking in at approx 2200fps w a 4.7" w a force metric 40% higher than 9mm.. :O not to mention the shock + awe of the booming, fire belching .357 round. Seems like a win all around, if I can shoot .40 at the range 'affordably'.

Still to be determined- stick with Carry 3.9 or go with 4.7.

Does anyone carry full size EDC regularly? Which is preferred?

I've been AIWB and pocket mainly. Can do full size though w most holsters and it really doesn't change the 'experience' much.. but for some reason I'm still more comfortable toting a Xcarry sized gun. I took an X5 Legion to the store the other night, Enigma/ PHLster rig. I was surprised how well it concealed with just a sweatshirt.

Regarding availability: SIG stopped production of all .40 and .357 SIG guns when the pandemic hit in 2020. Production was way down and demand was through the roof so they stuck with the two most popular calibers (9mm and .45). Whether they bring the others back, time will tell, but it isn't looking good right now. They do still make the conversion kits, accessories, and ammo so I suppose it is possible. I do know that the P320 is still made in both .40 and .357 calibers for agency contracts.

A good friend of mine is shooting and carrying P320 chambered in 357 Sig. We do a lot of range time and field time together. Very wonderful accurate nice shooting gun, Imo cannot beat 357 Sig round. Also in my opinion I am just not fond of Striker fire for Carry purposes. That's probably just cuz I'm an old fart with old school ways!
