So I've been running my SIG VTAC for over a year with a Steiner MPS, the optic has been great, however the VTAC sights do not cowitness so I'm looking at going to a direct mounted optic, the Defender has the DPP footprint, and I've not heard anything bad about them.
I know the SIG optic does too but its really pricey, and I'd likely just go to the DPP at that price.
Curious if anyone has one, what your take is on it.

I bought the Defender ST but haven't mounted it to my P226 yet. I'm contemplating an exchange for the Defender XL. The reviews in YouTube are generally positive and Vortex is known to have excellent customer service and a warranty. The new Defender line is a significant improvement over their previous RDO offerings for pistols.
I am curious to know, which optic did you decide to go with?

I went with a Steiner MPS to start.
Its a great optic, ZERO issues from it on the VTAC, was on XDM elite prior, my issue on the VTAC is I cannot see irons.
Kyle Lamb and crew did alot of work with those sights and I like them, and want to be able to use them if the optic goes down.
