Just finished watching a Robert Burke video on one of FB Groups, where he is coming out this next Tuesday, on his website with a replacement strut for the Classic P Series pistols. https://www.thesigarmorer.com/

The slight re-design helps overcome some P226 SAO problems where the rebounding Hammer, bottoms out on the Safety Lever, which can break and or distort, the Safety Lever Springs. It also smooths the lower leg, where it passes through the mainspring, where the stamped edges would "rub" the coils as the compressed, causing the grittiness feeling, on DA/SA versions.

From the video, and his post, it appears it will be available for purchase, which I guess we will know for sure on the 10th... and to the cost, as it's not mentioned.

The "ironic" part is that watching Robert's video, and his discussion of the grittiness felt in a DA/SA's double action pull, coming from the strut rubbing the Mainspring's coils... just as I surmised!

Deciding on who will be the Guinea Pig.
Most likely will be the Select as it has the crunchiest trigger.

I haven't messed with it yet other than a new hammer and trigger.
The others have had the struts polished a bit and don't feel to bad, at least nowhere as bad as the Select.

It looks to be beneficial for competitors, how well it will improve the "everyman's" carry piece will be up to every man that gets it.

A couple of Facebook friends have installed it on their pistols, one who competes with a Legion SAO acknowledges Robert's comment about this strut eliminates interference with the Thumb Safety. Both individuals acknowledged the "straighter" compression of the Mainspring.

At $60 a copy, I'll try one, once he gets them back in stock, in my latest, with the GGI SRT with the nickel-boron coating and Dual Adjustable Curved trigger, to see how much improvement I get over my previous modifications to the E2 Struts. The straighter compression of the spring should also eliminate any contact between the strut and the springs coils at a minimum.

I just ordered one... earlier this morning on FB someone had mentioned he was "out" already, which I could have understood. I never went to his website to personally check... I guess I'll find out here in a few days!

From watching the video again, I am assuming it's a factory specification mainspring, to "replace" the factory bent/cut spring from the E2 strut.

You can message him, and ask to be for sure!

I put it in the M11-A1 since I had the hammer out and used the spring that came with it.
I'll shoot him an E-mail just to see what it's rated at.

After measuring the pull I'm leaving it in. It doesn't need anything lighter than whatever was sent.

With the AC hammer, GGI EDC trigger kit and the strut kit it comes in at a nice smooth 6.5 lb DA and just over 3 lbs SA

I'm fixing to take a peek at the hammer in the Select and will swap it in that one and see what it does for it. That one has a gritty feeling DA that I suspect is in the strut.

... wait a minute 6.5 in DA pull.... I think I need to revisit my m11-a1 trigger and copy your setup... I changed the main spring polished the strut... put in GG adj trigger and I’m in the 9 lb ballpark.... would like to get that down a little more.......... great more money + more time lol

If the video is only accessible through FB then I won't be able to see it.

But I understand the concept and it seems to work as advertised.
It's a nice piece of work.
Going from a short strut to a longer one may have helped as well.
I did have to reset the over travel after I put it in. So it did change the geometry a bit.

Put my new "Super Strut" into my recently acquired P229... it did seem to be a slight improvement over my "massaged" E2 strut, in smoothness. :thumbsu:

I'm pleased :D, I just don't know that I will "outfit" all of my Sigs... maybe my primary carry pieces, because $60 + shipping is probably reasonable for what you're getting, but that will be each individual's choice, whether it's necessary in "all" of their Sigs.

Try one, and decide for yourself... ;)

Also got one installed in mine and it has been a great improvement even over a well-polished stock strut.

Feel improved but stacking is reduced as well as perceptible pull weight.

I think the pull weight has something to do more with the way the spring compresses with the strut. With the Superstrut, the Spring isn't compressed unevenly in a crooked angle. The spring seems more straight and doesn't look like it's as compressed at DA mode than it was before at it's initial starting position. This makes me think that being that the spring isn't compressed as much from the get-go, there is less compounding on the spring once you press the trigger since there's more length of travel of the spring.

I then paired it with AC's skeletonized Hammer and I'm quite pleased, Of course, an action job and more gunsmithing modifications for pretravel removal and it's amazing.

Additionally, I found that AC's purple competition sear spring seems thinner and softer than GGI's competition sear spring. Just some food for thought. Currently running 16lbs to see how it fares with my ammo considering the efficiency in energy transfer the action job, superstrut and skeletonized hammer brings.

GBIA I even attempted a 20 second video... but after several reviews, I couldn't subject you all, to that much torture!!!

If I had any SAO Classic P Series, I would definitely want that. I wouldn't mind trying it in my DA/SA SIGs but the price seems a bit steep for what it would provide for my DA/SAs.

Same thoughts, I first heard from the Sig Guy that they were supposed to be around 40 or 45 bucks shipped (IIRC it was 50 with their e2 mainspring seat, so I'm guessing 45). Lo' and behold it gets listed at 60 a pop without the seat. Being that I already contacted Robert, I took the plunge even if it was going to be installed in a DA/SA pistol. I love the upgrade and would recommend it. Price is a little steep considering it was said to be cheaper initially, but the nitride finish and better contouring certainly made it feel smoother to the touch. Way smoother than any non-action job strut, and same if not better than a well-polished strut.

I don't know if it's a placebo effect too, but it seems that this strut has a bigger hook that makes it seem to install quicker compared to the original strut. I usually get it installed right in the first or second try at most, while the original strut I'd sometimes get it in the third try if I'm not paying attention or not function testing before installing the spring.

Just like chasing HP in an engine it's all the little things that contribute to the final result.
It's like that final piece of the puzzle and it just all works together.

I haven't tested it in other guns yet but do plan on trying it in the Select which hasn't been messed with other than a trigger and hammer swap with a 19 lb spring.
I did put the polished trigger bar out of the Legion in it but nothing else has been messed with.
It comes in at about 10 lbs DA and 4.5 SA

The Legion has had all the internal stuff polished by the PO.
With the SOT trigger kit and a 19 lb spring with an AC hammer it feels better than the M11-A1. If the Superstrut and spring makes the DA any lighter I may have to see about getting a higher powered spring.
