The rescue is now completed on this German "P226 - X-Five MATCH"

Now with a few Armory Craft bits: (Plus-2 Base Pad, Trigger Pull Reduction Kit, Sport Takedown Lever)
She looks now like a brand new gun that just left the factory. This was a fun project that took only one evening of tinkering after work:

  • complete disassembly
  • Aluminum oxide media blasting of the frame and the slide to get the cerakote off
  • Fine Media glass media blasting to restore the smooth and brighter sheen factory finish
  • complete reassembly (including the additional parts) and lube

In the end I think it turned out pretty good and I am very happy with my $2200 Gunbroker purchase despite all the cr*p and comments this gun originally received. Taking it to the range today after work. I think it is going to be a fun shooter.

That looks great! I was wondering how well the serial numbers, proof marks and other markings would survive the blasting. Everything still looks nice a "crisp".

Now it does not look like an LGBTQ Pimp Gun.
