By now, I have resigned to accept the fact that the 15 round magazines are discontinued by sig.

I prefer to carry with a 12 rounder in place, and at least one 15 rounder in reserve. I live in Illinois ( no snickering, please). 15 rounds is our max ( for now).

I regret being asleep at the wheel when the 15 to 17 switch came, I would’ve have laid in a supply.

I understand that the 17 is the same profile as the 15. But that’s just one more way to get cross with an overzealous LEO. Seems like SIg kinda threw us in Illinois under the bus, relegating us the 12 rounds to remaking legal.

So I’m asking what are the prospects of a 15 rounder being offered by a third party mag producer, perhaps mecgar or pro mag etc. ?

Thanks for the support and since this is my first forum question and I’m a relative new member, it very nice to be here.

Welcome, from Will County, IL. MagGuts.com has parts to make your 12 rd mags into 14 rds.
I don’t own any, but hear they work.

When the 17 round Macro magazines came out I sold all of my 15 round magazines and purchased the 17 round magazines. Sig didn't throw you under the bus your state did.

If I see them on sale (out of state) , I might pick up a couple of 17’s. If I’m feeling particularly lawful, I’ll load them with 15. If it comes down to somebody counting my ammo load out, I’ve got bigger things to worry about.

Welcome to Sig Talk.

I think the likelihood of a 15 round magazine vs. say the current 17 round Macro is virtually nil.

This is for the reasons you stated; the 15 round mag is for all intents and purposes (save one) the same physical envelope as the 17, and as they say, unless you are drowning or on fire, who doesn't want more ammo. (Pro Mag magazines I hear nothing good from, Mec-Gar are at the other end of the spectrum. All the MG mags I've owned have been very high quality.) (*the one exception being state-specific laws, which restrict magazine capacity to arbitrary limits).

One hope I have is that Sig (or Mec-Gar, or Check mate) will introduce a flush-fitting Macro mag. Downloading by 2 and redesigning the tube and basepad to be flush would help with Macro concealment, I reckon. It would remove the ability to strip a mag by using the basepad as a handle, of course, which is my guess why a flush 15 is not a thing.

Otherwise, keep an eye out in the classifieds, they pop up from time to time. Again, welcome aboard.

You have one other option, and I ain't saying it's a financially sound one, I'm just saying it's an option. However many 12rd mags you have, you can convert them to 14rd mags with a Magguts kit. I don't have that many 12 rounders but I went ahead and splurged on a +2 kit on each of 'em. Every mag has been dead-nuts reliable and I don't regret anything.

I own two P365's One is an 'X' and the the other an 'XL'. Both came with three 12-round magazines, two in the box and each one was candidate for an extra free 12-rounder and a box of ammo due to a promotion being run. One of the magazines for each gun is now a 14-rounder, giving me fifteen rounds at my disposal. Reason? I installed a MagGuts +2 spring kit in each of these two magazines. Best way to go for these guns and you don't have all of that extra length hanging down on the factory 15-round mags.

Your best bet is to scour the internet and see if you luck out finding a new Sig 15rd magazine in its packaging. Try E-Bay as some Sig owners might be selling theirs off in the original packaging... As well that there might still be plenty of LGS that still have it in stock up for sale so check around your town and/or city. The other day I was checking at my LGS for some spare magazines for my 4 year old XL that is my EDC as like you I tend to conceal carry with just 12 rounds. All I had was 2 x 12rds and a 15rd one which has been a pain at the range not having more spare magazines loaded up. At my LGS they only had 17 rd magazines and since the price was right at half a Benjamin a piece I went for it. Used them at the range this past Thursday and it was decidedly a major plus to have 34 extra rounds on tap ready to go.
