Finally, after a 10 week trip to Surefire's west coast R&D facility, our SOCOM 556 RC suppressor is home!! SF confirmed an out-of-spec muzzle device fit, repaired the backend, replaced the QD, repainted and test fired - Seems to fit great now...

FYI, SF is going through some tough times right now. After significant layoffs, reorganizations, etc. - the folks that remain really have their hands full...

I chose this particular suppressor because hard running 516 indoors in tactical rifle drills - limiting blowback was my top priority. Yeah, I kind'a like shooting with clear eyes and easy breathing. And, according to the folks at Silencer Shop - SOCOM has the lowest blowback of silencers available...

Range time has been limited this summer, but we're gonna run 516 soon...

Cheers

I'm not sure if it was you I asked before, and can't remember what the answer was - but is that suppressor rated for 10" barrels?

Right, SF told me this RC in good from 10" & up. Their 'SB' model suppressor for under 10".

The few experienced people there now are helpful, responsive - really trying hard. Heck, the R&D guy working my suppressor issue was great. He even throw-in a new SF muzzle break for my troubles.

Hope SF can manage thru this difficult time. Think I'll buy another light...

Cheers

I really like their SOCOM series of supressors.

Clean, conservative design - excellent quick - detach system.

But their pricing...

...much to be desired.

Used position 3, couple clicks to the left for the limited run we had before sending her back to SF. Tried the normal setting .. That's when we discovered the QD issue 'cause the can flew down range with the 1st round!!

Cheers
