I have had this problem since I got the gun, and I am not sure if someone has a tip for me. When I go to reassemble the P938 after cleaning, the guide rod protrudes out of the front of the gun when I am finished. I have to dissemble, then reassemble multiple times to get it to fit in correctly. Here is what it looks like:

Any suggestions?

Start inserting the take down pin from battery and only when the lever is almost to the slide do you want to slide it back to line up the crescent hole.

In your picture, the pin is inserted in front of the kidney hole in the barrel.

What JRE said. As the inverted slide is sitting there on your table, notice how you can push the back end of the guide rod to either side. Make sure it's in the middle before you assemble the gun. As you're putting the slide back on the gun and you feel the guide rod hit, wiggle things around a little before pushing the slide further back.

You are pulling the slide too far back when you insert the take down lever.
Just look in the the take down lever hole when you are reassembling, pull the slide back until you see the barrel link hole, insert take down lever part way in, pull the slide back further until the notch in the slide lines up with the take down lever, push the take lever the rest of the way in.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will play with it again, and let you know. It sounds like I need to keep an eye out for a centered Guide Rod, and *then* use DeanS' technique for reassembly.
