Planning on getting a new pistol. I end up pocket carrying most of the time. Probably going to get a recluse pocket holster. Let's here your advice!

I've carried the P938 in a jacket pocket, but, for me at least, it is still too big to carry in a pants pocket.

For pants pocket carry the only gun I've found that's practical is a Seecamp. Mine is in .32ACP. Yes I know, it's not a 9MM or larger, but I really can carry it almost anywhere, except the shower.

Could probably carry it in the shower if really necessary, but let's not go there.

Personally I don't carry any of those options in the pocket. Were I to do so I'd go with the P938 as the size/weight differential with the P238 is insignifant. I do carry a Kahr P380 in the pocket that is about 1/3 lighter and 25% narrower than the P238/P938.

P238 for pocket carry personally. I have a 238 and a 938. I would carry a 938 in my pocket except mine is a Legion. The extended magwell means the 6 round magazine isn’t a viable option. If I have to pocket carry this summer, I will take my 238 with a 6 round mag.

I wear little pants on my little body. Pocket Cary in normal jeans, or any pants with pockets cut like jeans is a no go.

Pants where the pocket opening is cut at a downward angle, like certain Duluth work pants is the only way for me.

With at said, my 365 is too tall for me to get a clean draw. The LCPII is perfect. J frames also, but I am out of those for the moment.

I started out pistols with a 1911 so for me it is SAO all the way.
I tried and swore off .380 a long time ago, so my carry is a 938 SAS, in a Sticky holster.

Carried the P938 for a few years. Was never completely comfortable carrying cocked and locked. I much prefer the simpler manual of arms of the striker fired P365. Bonus: plus four rounds!

I have pocket carried daily my 365 since shortly after acquiring it in April of 2018. I recently asked my assistant (who knows I carry) if she had ever noticed it. She said, "not until just now when you pointed it out." A cop buddy on the same day (who was with his wife) asked me about the 365. I answered that I had one and was carrying it at that moment. He and his wife commented that they did not notice it. I carry right strong side front pocket in a Desantis Superfly pocket holster. I carried a 238 prior to acquiring a 290, which I carried until I acquired the 365 (maybe for 3 months). The 290 was too big for pocket carry. The 365, for me, is not.

I have been pocket carrying for over a half century, mostly snub nose revolvers but also some of the smaller pistols. Currently I have two Sigs that sometimes get pocket carry walkabout; a P230 and a P290RS 380. I find though that they simply carry better OWB.

Today for pocket carry I find the Remington RM380 as close to a perfect pistol as I have ever found. Close to that is the Beretta Pico (mine does not seem to like wide mouthed JHPs) and the S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 (needs some grip tape on the slide but with that it has become a swan). I also have a Ruger LCP Gen 2 but it is a very distant runner up with absolutely no redeeming graces.

Had a 290 rs it pocket carried ok. Just did not like the trigger no matter how much I tried. Now have 938 that I pocket carry in a Galco suede type leather holster.
I don't carry this gun everyday. Usually a different gun, when I need to carry in pocket it's the 938.
I also had a S & W j frame .38 2 inch. Had that gun for over 40 years. Never pocket carried it. It was mostly a off duty gun and cc after retirement from police dept.
I sold it a year or so ago.
