The wood grips are sharp on it.

 

Leave the wooden grips on; the other sets do make any favor to the pistol. Enjoy! 😎

Looks great, and I had a two-tone SS on black WC carry grip not the same but love it, ex-wife snagged it when we separated. Trying to piece one back together as my next project. Congratulations and I agree with group, the two-tone with wood grips is where it’s at. IMHO.

 

I like it all, think you need to get 2 more of the exact same pistols to have them all.

 

Absolutely gorgeous. I go back and forth with the original grips and wood ones. I lean a little toward the wood. Not a fan of the bottom grips at all. Just my opinion.👍

 

I got this a while back and also have some full nickel pistols. To my surprise, I’m completely enamored with the two-tone nickel. It’s just mean and beautiful at the same time. 2 tone pistols as shotguns with silver receivers are an abomination. 😘

Another vote for original but since it’s your gun then whatever makes you happy! Just not the bottom ones, (that you already said don’t fit) too many angles. My ocd doesn’t get too carried away most of the time but those grips send it into overdrive.

 

I really like those lok grips, I really dislike them on this pistol. Surprised me. They feel “right” in my hand.

DIY or not that’s still an absolutely superb pistol. Get the 40 or 357 barrel if you can for the best of both worlds. I have an original two tone P229 in .357 Sig but I’m also working on building a M11-A1 ‘Transformer’ in 9/40/357/.22 as well, finances permitting.

fz1, Thanks, but don't think mine can be converted up to .40 and .357. Mine is the earlier 228 frame version that has the narrower mag well for the factory 9mm 13-round magazines. My other 229 is the same way..

 

The slide will work but the P229 .40/.357 mags will not fit. One option would be to use P226 .40/.357 mags, but they would stick out a little. So practically speaking, it can't be converted.

 

The OG two tone looks great! Been lovin those for years and never gets old….like fine wine i guess lol….i drink whiskey

 

I absolutely love two tone Sigs and two tone Beretta 92’s.

 

Love 2 tone Sigs. Nickel is always sharp looking. Have a two tone nickel P229 and another that is fully nickel which was GOTM 2004.

 

Has anyone started a two tone thread that you remember? Like… “Show your two-tones!” Was kicking around the idea.
