Interesting that ours are the same date and different stamping. My serial number is 66A3700xx. Is yours close to that number or different?

First Time Gun Owner with Question

Slide 00-21 with slashes in zeros

Weird thing with the serial number of 66A12XXX, is that it seems to fall in line of other's BOD in September 2018.
While other's made in March 2019 start with 66A3XXXX.
Why such a difference?

I have 2 with the same build date of 1/12/19 and they have different slide numbers. One is 0018 20 and the other is 0018 21. I made a thread about the 2 guns, and the one with 0018 21 gave me a few out of battery malfunctions on my first range trip which caused some light/off-center primer strikes but it appears to have been only a break in issue and has since gone away. The 0018 20 seems to run fine. Is there something wrong with the 0018 20 and should I be wanting them both to be 0018 21?

That the new angle was the reason for the 21 designation and that maybe it (and the new design recoil spring) was there to help new guns better feed/return to battery.

Jan-Feb, 12 2018 reportedly had a 19# recoil spring. 13 inner coils, 12 outer coils:

February 13, 2018 reportedly switched to a 20# recoil spring to help with RTB issues. 13 inner coils, 11 outer coils:

May 2018: 12 inner coils, 11 outer. PN 1805110804 Barcode 7 98681 59182 4

October 2018: RSAs were out of stock everywhere. Possible changeover?

I ordered 2 in January 2019: 13 inner, 12 outer PN 1810151216 Barcode 7 98681 59399 6
and 1 in April 2019: 12 inner, 11 outer (same coil count as May 2018). New gap in outer guide rod. PN 1903070553 Barcode 7 98681 59399 6
