While at my local store they got in 1 P320 AXG Scorpion. I looked at it, it looked at me, I thought about my bank account and left with it.

The question is: should I shoot and enjoy this gun, or put it up and leave it pristine to see if it one day jumps in value?

Not knowing what you paid for it, most are selling for above MSRP as it is the "new flavor" of the day. People want it.

In time, this current over MSRP will not hold up. So I am not sure there is much of a profit to be made. Keeping it in pristine condition is nice but the best thing to do at this point is shoot it, enjoy, and still keep it in pristine condition. It must be a good shooter based on ST members evaluations and online line write ups.

I would definitely shoot it...

It will be difficult for it to have any significant value increase since the AXG aluminum frame will trickle down the line as an accessory and once firearm and ammo production catch up with demand you’ll likely have lots of people that purchased a firearm due to concern over social instability brought on by the pandemic and/or the presidential elections, selling firearms in like new condition for steep discounts...

I say just enjoy it and congrats

I say shoot it and enjoy it. I doubt its going to go up in value, when SIG is going to continue to sell the AXG (maybe in a non custom shop model) which means the price will get cheaper over time which will hurt the value of these in the long run. In the past, SIG has done special runs of 229/226 those don't sell for crazy money.

If SIG was only making limited # and never selling AXG again that would be a different story. A recent example of a modern collectable would be IWI Galil in 5.45x39. They only made 500 ish rifles/pistols and that's it, those may go for crazy money once they are all sold.

I feel the same way about guns as I do about cars. Why bother if you aren't gonna shoot/drive it. It is nothing but a waste of money if you bought it just to sit on it. cause that is all you will do is sit on it. It's a P320 after all. No one is gonna pay you twice what you paid for it 10 years from now.

Isn’t the AXG Scorpion Limited Edition? I know regular models are coming at some point.

I couldn’t resist shooting it but a never fired one could get more money than one that was fired. If my intentions were to keep it I’d probably shoot up my bit of FMJ that I’ve had since February.

SIG uses limited edition kind of loosely. I'm betting if these fly off the shelves SIG will keep making them for awhile. Also what's limited... The scorpion color, grips ect, I'm sure a general all black version will be out if they do stop make this model. Also SIG did say they would sell the metal grip frame as an accessory at some point. Finally, SIG does this all the time to their 22X series of pistols (remember the tribal painted ones not a good look). I mean if SIG said we are only making 500 and that's it, maybe that's a different story.

Word is it’s an open limited run. They haven’t announced how many they are making, they are just keeping an ordering window open for direct dealers and distributors and they will fill those orders until the window closes. There could end up being a healthy amount of these out on the street when all is said and done.

In this current environment you could probably put several hundred rounds through it right now and turn around in a couple weeks and get more than what you paid for it.

There may be several thousands of these by the time they end the open limited run since it’s their first alloy framed striker so I wouldn’t think it would gain much if any value.

Me, I would shoot it!

Congratulations on your new addition.

Shoot it. Carry it
I got one couple days after it came out. And it has replaced my M&P as my new EDC

I got my P320 AXG Scorpion a week a go or so and plan on shooting it. I like the concept of the P320 modularity but am not a fan of plastic grips. When I saw the all metal P320 I hunted one down : ) Can't wait to get out to shoot. It has joined my family of P229's and P226's along with a P320 I had Wilson Combat-ized to the max as a Carry version. The Wilson Combat grip module is better than the standard Sig grip modules.

I walked into my Local Dealer yesterday and he said I have a surprise for you, then it showed me this. I almost fell on the floor. He found a supplier who had a couple and they sold him 2. 1 of them needless to say became mine . The trigger is amazing. They did a great job with this one
