Old ammo = higher pressure?

I recently pulled some 1930's 8MM Mauser made by DWM. It is brass cased with Berdan corrosive primers.
I wanted to load the nice projectiles in to non corrosive Boxer primed cases and figured I would try a couple rounds with the powder from the DWM ammo.
It choreographed at 1700 or so FPS.

As for the 50 failure IMO, I repeat IMO
I have never had old ammo shoot hotter than new so either this 50BMG powder was unusual compared to standard rifle powder or this was over loaded to begin with
This was estimated to be 85K CUP over 55K. That action should have handled 100K ( one time) unless it was defective or (as I believe) all that ammo was hot and the metal failure was accumulating with each round shot and then an even higher pressure round completed the failure
