Awesome, look forward to an update when you get it back. Did you happen to measure your stock trigger pull before you sent it off?
I do have my trigger pulls measured as well as lighter hammer/main 18lb spring in it. From my understanding though, Mr Burke lightens the trigger pulls without taking out the stock 21lb springs, so Im not sure if he might put stock back into it. I was impressed that when he received the gun he gave a call to say it was received and he knew without taking it a part that I had lowered the spring

Wow, that's impressive! I admit that I knew nothing of Mr. Burke before joining this website, but from everything I've read the man sound like a Sig Jedi when it comes to their triggers. I may find myself seeking out his services afterall, when I finally get mine back from Sig that is.

I think that was a whole lot of speculation on what was or wasnt done. I see no reason sig would go out of there way to try to manually compress a spring rather than just putting a new spring in.
I watched that guy's video previously. I wasn't impressed. I started unimpressed with his tacticle appruved wristband. Once he got to the point of saying that polishing the pivot pin makes no sense because it doesn't turn, I gave up hoping that he might know something.

A good gunsmith who specializes in SIGs, especially one of Robert Burke's caliber, will have no problem ascertaining mainspring strength from DA trigger pull. Mainspring is the primary component of DA pull weight.

Im pretty familiar with his different videos, postings and articles. I respect his knowledge on guns but I dont happen to agree with him on this particular one. First of all he is basing his claims on comparing a new spring size to one that is taken out of the gun. If you ever changed any gun spring, you usually see a difference in size between the two. Secondly he is basing his claims on comparing the SA pull weights. Although putting in a lighter main spring might slightly change the SA trigger pull it has more to do with the DA pull. The SA pull occurs while the spring is compressed.

I had Robert Burke do his Carry Level Action Job on mine...then bought lots of ammo and shot it a lot...life is good.
How did you like the work done on the trigger? I just boxed my 226 DA/SA Legion to go to Robert for the trigger job and also put in the flat faced trigger from GG. I love the gun and only think reducing that DA pull a little bit will make it that much better.

I also replaced the 4 flat head screws on the grips with allen screws instead. I like the uniform look rather than having the screws go in random directions...just a tad ocd I guess. Other than that, just shooting it and loving the gun. No big issues with the finish like some and overall, one of the best guns out there.

I think I'm going to have Burke do some work on my P226 Legion SAO. I've been using it quite a bit in steel plate and some IDPA, and would like the break a bit nicer.

Awesome article and finish on the gun. The pics look great. I just shipped my legion out in tuesday to get hard chromed. Cant wait to see how it comes out. 4 to 6 weeks to go. ::sigh::
What finish did your original Legion have before you sent it out to be chromed? Can you give me an idea of what a Chrome job typically cost if done correctly?

You can PM me if it can't go out in public.

Thanks

Joe

It had the regular pvd finish that comes on a legion. Price for everything, including shipping charges was around 400

Summarizing the changes to my legion in one post since there has been a bit since the start of this thread.

I had the legion hard chromed refinished. Competition trigger package from Robert Burke. DA pull now at 7.5 lbs, SA pull now at 2.25 lbs. Trigger very smooth and adjusted perfectly. Did some testing with a DPM recoil reducer (will test more in the future). Replaced the stock 1oz guide rod with a Tungsten 2 oz guide rod. Lowered recoil spring from 15 to 11 lbs. Just replaced stock barrel with bar-sto semi-drop barrel.

I think I may be done at this point other than small maintenance things here and there. I cant really think of much else too upgrade on the gun; although Ive been enjoying investing into it.

PhillySoldier,

What improvement did you realize with the Bar-Sto barrel?

Also, could you feel any difference with the W recoil rod?

Thanks,

deepwater

Barrel just came the other day. I havent shot it since. Will try it this weekend.

All I have done to my Legions is to replace the stock triggers on the DA/SA P229s and P226s with GG P-STR8 triggers. I just happen to like the feel of these triggers compared to the stock triggers, and I tend to shoot more accurately with them. The rest of the gun is great as far as I am concerned. I haven't had any problems with the finishes on any of the 6 Legions I own.

The Legion comes with a lot to start but just wondering what further upgrades and modifications have members made (both functional and cosmetic)?
My 229 came with all the bells and whistles SIG could dream up. In the real world this SIG 229 had the worst trigger that SIG ever sent out the door. A trip to the SIG ARMOUR took care of that mess. As far as finish, mine seems to be doing all right, but if it goes squirrely off it goes to get a proper hard chrome finish. Now just how much is one willing to spend on a proper top shelf pistole. $1200 for purchase, $450 for a proper trigger and a
"REAL" short reset. Maybe down the road a hard chrome job. It's getting a bit salty now and nothing from a custom shop. My run of the mill CZ 7075's are a better bargin.
