The company claims both are of equal strength. One is identical to sigs the other a simpler design. Less machining. I went for the original design, it's a matter of choice. I did it for peace of mind.

Hello to all new guy here also new to Sig’s. I’ve always been a Glock guy but I finally overcame my addiction to Glocks with the release of the 365. I bought one two weeks ago and sold my Glock 43. It’s one of the newer ones made in October. Thanks original poster you helped me work through changing out my Striker. I see in the pictures a 3 is stamped on the original Sig striker when I removed mine it had 4 stamped on it so I’m thinking they must’ve made some more changes. Oh By the way I put about 250 rounds through mine and it ran like a champ before I installed the new striker.

I'd like to know about those numbers on the striker myself. I just bought my P365 on Monday (2/4/19). Born on date of 12/21/18 and the striker has a number "2" stamped on it. I'm assuming by the date of your post yours was manufactured earlier than mine so why would yours have a later number if they're going in chronological order? Or are they? Who knows.

The number on the striker is the number of the mold that the part was made in for traceability if there is a manufacturing issue.

It has nothing to do with the date of manufacture.

I really liked the 365, but concerns over the striker gave me serious carry concerns. However, after reading this excellent article, I thought why not juts buy this stainless steel striker. but then...ouch!..$99??? it's easier to save it for range play and carry another dependable gun. Truth is SIG should have owned up to this problem.

Since we're talking about strikers...While I had mine removed I noticed it was pretty oiled up. A lot of oil on the black plastic behind the striker spring. Is this normal? I didn't add any lube to the gun and I was under the impression the striker assembly should be completely dry.

Should I clean it? Leave it? Clean it and add a little of my own gun lube?

The majority of opinions seem to be to leave the striker, plastic, channel, spring all dry.

Yeah, clean & dry for your striker assembly. This will reduce fouling buildup in the striker channel which could obstruct its movement...

Oh, should mention that 365 ran great with her new LSPI striker today - 220 perfect rounds. Here's a link to the thread on this range time...

hey, just curious, can you provide any info about your range results with the LSPI striker on a P365? I see that your thread linked in this ^ post is deleted/dead :(

does the new striker get rid of striker drag entirely?

I have a 12/26/18 365 that has had no malfunctions, but the striker drag worries me

The link referenced above works just fine - I just tried it.

Striker drag is common in this and other small striker fired pistols. It's nothing to be concerned about.

There's a stickied thread just above https://sigtalk.com/p365/342406-p365-striker-drag.html that discusses this subject.

Thanks! I will go make a post.

For some reason this link still says "Invalid Link" https://sigtalk.com/p250-p320-p320-x-5-pistols/310746-sig-p365-range-time-fun-lsis-striker.html but maybe I'll get it working at some point.
