I have a lot more respect for that Walther model. That is a much better way of marketing to women than what Sig ended up going with with the 'rose' design. I'd call that pandering and I think some women would be offended (although not that offended, probably, since many other companies have been doing that for decades)
Call it what you will but SIG worked with a couple of the largest female only shooting organizations in the country when developing the Rose platform, packaging and training materials. They gave them exactly what they wanted.

Years ago my wife and I were at the range when a woman walked by carrying a purple Glock. My wife informed me she'd never own a “Sissy Gun!” That killed the female themed firearms issue at our house.
Yep. Wife said if the manufacturer decides to pander to whomever and "Shrink it and pink it," they can keep it.

I think Sigs marketing was ingenious. The design is subtle, it doesn't look like a Barbie accessory, and the stippling does help. I bought my wife the package and she loves it. Having a female champion shooter help with the design and promote the line with further accessories, training videos, and retreats has removed any notions of "pandering". She is part of Rose forums and facebook groups (which are full of owners) and actually watches the training videos, etc. I think it has created a more inclusive community and helps others want to carry and train, which is always a good thing.

I think Walther just stamped an F on it and called it a day lol. The Walther is also still too big for her and most smaller/medium sized females.

As far as a guy carrying it? Not my thing, but it is tastefully subtle like I mentioned and to each their own.

I was ignorant of most of the stuff regarding Lena, so that's fair. Have to admit you've kinda schooled me on that point 😂

However, I'll stand by the statement that designing a pistol for female hands, or whatever Walther was trying to do, is a better idea than Sig's 'tasteful' marketing of a rose-gold cursive letter engraved pistol, even if it was a failure (The Walther, that is. The Rose was certainly a success and I won't try to claim that it was a dumb move on the part of Sig.)

I just think if I was a woman I'd rather carry a standard P365. But there's nothing worse than people who aren't a part of a certain demographic opining about what is or is not disrespectful to that demographic so I will stop there.

I see the women who would be interested in the Rose guns or something similar is the same as a guy who wants to have camouflage gun (not a hunting gun) or something along those lines. There is a market for it. But not for me.

the only thing with the Sig Rose line is IF it contributes to some donation thing to get women into shooting or providing gun training for women. The more women we can get trained and carrying guns the better. So if a woman buying a Rose gun helps fund something like that, I can see how that would be more enticing as well.

lol, I love all the insecure male responses I got, since posting this topic!

thanks for the entertainment guys!

Brought the gun home today. I’m convinced if I told you the trim was copper, bronze or FDE instead of Rose Gold, most of you wouldn’t even notice It’s a female gun.

At the end of the day I think it’s a great value compared to other p365 models with a comp

I didn't read any insecure male comments, only opinions. Don't try so hard, if you dig the gun that's all that matters.
Have you picked out any flats to wear with it? :ROFLMAO:

OK, maybe ......
No, yeah I could be convinced.

SIG sent me an email saying that I should rethink my position in light of the new 9 Line tshirts they just released.

After considering the odds of me purchasing a $50 tshirt.....carrying a rose colored gun is more likely.

That T would look Hot under those overalls!!!!!!!!!!

Just messing around! I see no problem carrying whatever, rock on.
About 3 decades ago, I got my wife a S&W M66 "Lady Smith" .357 mag/.38 Special. Frosted stainless with rosewood grips - a beautiful bit of design and execution. At the time, I seriously thought about getting one for myself.

The imagined court scenario was: "But I shot him with a Lady Smith! A LADY Smith!"

Of course, she now carries a 320SC, but for a once-a-year shooter, the earlier Lady Smith option is probably better.

Someone at my LGS once pointed out that the “Rose” engraved on the grip frame sort of looks like a person sitting on a toilet. I didn’t set it at first. No I can’t NOT see it. Otherwise it is a fine looking gun :)
I didn’t see that until now…but yes, once seen….hard to unsee
