Exactly why I joined Sig Talk

So this is why I joined Sig Talk. I built this P365 and for 1000 rounds it tortured me with 20% light primer strikes. I joined for help with my issue and never ended up asking the question. After reading a few posts, it was clear many join for that reason and when they get the answer they were looking for, they dissapear. I figured I needed to hang around for a while before I asked the question.

I tried every conceivable recoil spring, sanded polished and replaced too many parts to list. I got the failures down to about 2%, but it never went away. I documented every shot and magazine looking for a correlation and nothing worked 100%..

I turned the Live Free slide into an art project and started my Alumahyde II odessy. I was assuming it was defective. I stripped and coated the slide multiple times and used it as a display art piece.

A few months later i was talking with another member and he reccomemded I try something. I have a short memory, so I figured what could it hurt. +20% striker spring and just for good measure a +10% trigger spring.
I went back to the range and it fired 100% for 500 rounds. Problem solved, thanks Live2Sig for the sage advice.
It worked 100%, but we still weren't on talking terms after all those wasted bullets, curse words and unsatisfying range trips.
Back on the shelf it went out of spite.

Again since I have a short memory and am clearly a glutton for punishment. Last week I figured, what the heck. Let's make it what I originally wanted only better. I thought about re coating it in FDE and putting it back with the original Wilson grip. That seemed wrong since the Strike Industries slide was working so well. I do have lots of parts just hanging around. Why not put them to good use and cobble something new together with the Live Free Armory battle worn slide I made.

Very interesting, sounds like you’ve narrowed it down to the slide. If you have time to kill, I’d remove the whole striker assembly, insert a dowel and mark it. The do the same with a slide you know works correctly. Maybe there is a slight difference in the thickness of the breach face keeping the firing pin from making full contact with the primer each time. Just a thought.

Having some similar issues with a Glock 23. I’m gonna try out most or all of the things that you’ve tried here, and see what the solution is. It’s scary that when I put a Zev striker in it it went binary.
