Good evening folks,

Any thoughts on the DPM recoil reduction system for a P220 .45acp classic early 90’s?

Pros and cons and users personal experiences are really what I’m asking for.

I use the DPM recoil reduction spring on two 9 mm S&W M&P V1 competition pistols I built. The recoil effects are marginal.

I use the DPMS in my SIG P210T only because the SIG recoil spring assembly has been unavailable, costly ($70) and supposed to be replaced every 3,000 rounds.

The DPMS is available, costs about $125, and is good for 45,000 (that's not a typo) rounds. So, overall, it's a lot cheaper, unless you don't really shoot very much.

It works well in my P210, but I haven't really noticed that recoil is significantly reduced. But I have been shooting handguns for a long time and am not recoil sensitive. So your experience might be different.

I'm not familiar with Sprinco. From their website their system appears very different from the DPMS. Which one is better is anyone's guess.

What I can say is that I've used the DPMS in my P210T for 4 years and find it a quality item. I've also recommended the DPMS to many other P210 owners on this forum who have purchased the system. I have not yet heard a single complaint.

You may prefer Sprinco, which is fine. But I would have to disagree with your "DPM is plated spring/hardware store ...trash" statement.
